The Goodenough Mine is one of the twenty five producing silver mines in the Tombstone Mining District, which started the mining boom which resulted in the incorporation of the City of Tombstone. When you take the tour, you will be shown through the original 1879 workings by a knowledgeable guide, and learn all about nineteenth century hard rock silver mining. You'll see what the ore looked like, learn about how it was processed, see some beautiful rocks and minerals, and artifacts and structures that have been in place for 130 years. This is one of the mines owned by Ed Schieffelin, the founder of the town, part of the Tombstone Mill and Mining Company, which he founded as well. The Goodenough Mine Tour is the most authentic and unique attraction in the City of Tombstone, and you'll see the results of the hard work of the miners. It's an experience that you will enjoy.

Good tour, lots of great info. We did it toward the end of our day, and it was nice temperature below the ground. For those who don't like the dark or small, tight spaces, this may not be for you.

We had a fabulous tour guide who took us on a nice 45-60 minute tour of the mine. There is a lot of walking and standing, and stairs, but it's very worth it! I was impressed with the knowledge our guide have about the life of a miner and this history of the mine. It was way more open/roomy than... More

The tour was informative and fun. The tour guide was friendly. Clearly a must see when in Tombstone unless you have an issue with claustrophobia.

You will descend 60 stairs down (not too bad) and climb those 60 stairs back up (much tougher). A tour 100 feet below ground. In fact, warmer down there than it was above ground that day. Our guide was funny and knowledgeable (joked about being Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm trained). Glad we adventures down the stairs, definitely worth it!

We went down into this mine and was amazed to see how much silver was mined in this one location. Our guide James was great, knew a lot about the mine and history. Educated us about the mine and entertained us with his humor. Recommend for all ages.

It was very informative and interesting. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the tour guide with his snide and sometimes insulting remarks to the crowd. We purchased as the doc combo pack with the trolley

We loved the mine tour. I was always nervous to do this because it is underground but it was very good and I enjoyed it very much. There are lots of stairs to climb so if you are elderly it is probably not a good choice. I would recommend!

Went with friends on the Mine Tour...$10 per person and tipping at end of tour guide. We had James, knowledgeable, funny, witty, entertainer, all while Safety guiding the group through a historic Mine... Fascinating rocks and enjoyable tour! Must See! Wear your hard hat. Our tour guide James interacted well with all of us! Totally cool time.
