Visited for the Legend City exhibit. The whole museum was excellent. Museum is free with free parking. Spent a few hours there and could have spent more. There was a nice, interactive area for small children. Wish I had known that existed when my daughter was that age. Highly recommend.

Had a great time and enjoy it! Very informative, you learn how different cultures came to Arizona and how they work hard and what they had to go through. Had a lot of examples, for you to see.

The SW corner of Rural Road and Southern Avenue in Tempe has become a real cultural center in the East Valley. Not only is it the location of Tempe Public Library, Vihel Center for the Arts, and Pyle Adult Center, but it is also the home for Tempe's new, modern Historical Museum. The Museum offers a walk through Tempe's historic,... More

This is a great little museum close to downtown Tempe. The last time I went there was no admission fee (I don't think they've ever charged a fee). Beautiful exhibits, an excellent staff, user friendly, and a great way to spend a few hours. Tempe Library is next door. Check it out!

We decided to learn more about the history of Tempe on a recent trip there so this museum was a good place to start. It is small but has plenty of exhibits to look at. Pretty much something for everyone.

Took my 2 year old grandson to this hidden gem. Exhibits focus on Tempe artifacts but plenty of gun stuff for children to interact with. Even out of state visitors would enjoy learning more about Tempe's history. Kids can sit on police motorcycle, old truck and arcade rocket.

Easy access, free parking, no entrance fee, next to Tempe public Library, kid friendly. Lots of great displays with photos, artifacts and lots of history. Eateries and shopping nearby. Museum accepts donations. Highly recommend.
