- Sandy WPhoenix, Arizona489 contributionsIn the middle of nowhere, but this is a must see. This is in the middle of nowhere, we thought there was a little town here, but it is worth visiting. Lots of people of course, lining up to take photos. Some vendors selling usual beads, etc. The caps are quite expensive though. Great to have a limb in each of the four States. Glad we made the stop.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 6 October 2023
- Julie E26 contributionsNice place, beware the toiletsWe enjoyed visiting this monument, took lots of photos, went early in the morning. You have to pay 8 dollars each to enter which is very expensive for what it is, but you are only going to do it once. DONT USE the toilets they are disgusting you could smell them before opening the door they haven't been cleaned in months and the money they charge to get in you'd think they could at least clean the toilets. Whilst we were their the indians started setting up their stalls to sell their goods which was nice. The toilet situation spoilt it a little bit.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 16 October 2023
- ConfederateMikeGlasgow, Kentucky371 contributionsUnique place for a photo in 4 states at onceWe stopped here on the way from Page AZ to Albuquerque. Its a few hours drive and the place closes at 4:45. There was a constant stream of visitors but not a huge crowd so you can get your photos without waiting a long time. Where else can you be in 4 states at once? One negative is that the admission fee is $8/person.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 October 2023
- CCRoxtarIdaho Falls, Idaho4 contributionsGo on a Sunday, go other places before & afterFor a long time I had wanted to see the 4 Corners, but getting there involves a lot of desert driving. However, a Utah tour company was able to arrange a trip involving plenty of other points of interest including Bryce Canyon, Zion, Arches, Canyonlands, & Monument Valley. An annular eclipse passed through Kayenta, AZ; I & a family member & our tour guide saw that before heading northeast toward the Corners. The road leading into the Corners, blink & you miss it; we drove a few miles into Colorado before turning around & finding the road we needed. Since it was a Sunday, we had little trouble entering the monument grounds. There was a line for posing for pictures at the Corners, but it wasn't terribly long. Once it was my turn I put my feet in Utah & Arizona (the 2 states where I'd just been) & my hands in Colorado & New Mexico (2 states I have yet to go deeper into). So for those who want to stretch their limbs across 4 states, if you go on a Sunday & see plenty of places before & after, you likely will have a pleasant experience!Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 4 December 2023
- Jack LLeesburg, Virginia39 contributionsFour Corners was a Five Star bucket list item checkedHonestly, there’s not much here, but for a map geek or bucket list American, this is a must-see. Some nice vendors sell Native American items that are beautiful. The place looks great and photo friendly. You don’t need to spend a lot of time here. But you’ll always be able to tell people you WERE here.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 25 December 2023
- Eduardo AEl Paso, Texas73 contributionsFour Corners Swift Trip 2021After many years of trying to head out to this place, finally got to drag the family out. Although they tell you to bring cash, which we took little of, there are alot of vendors that take cards. Good place to stop on the way somewhere else as its not a big place to walk for too long.Visited March 2023Travelled with familyWritten 5 February 2024
- Ian R12 contributionsOne to tick off the listDifferent venue to visit. Turned up on a Monday afternoon - no reason why. Just a sign on the locked gates! Not on their website either as had checked opening times. Fortunately we planned to stay for a night less than an hour away, so revisited the following morning for a few photos. Go early to avoid the queues and the sun!Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 9 February 2024
- stevemhallRhoose, United Kingdom230 contributionsWorth a stopWorth a stop if you are passing. The site is surrounded by numerous little stalls selling local products. Having seen the the actual intersection of the 4 states, take time to walk round the site as the scenery is impressive.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 8 March 2024
- Peter DLedbury, United Kingdom691 contributionsWorth the visit unique experienceReally glad we did this as this is the only place in the US where 4 states meet. There is an entrance fee which is why (I’m assuming) 3 cars in front of us performed a U turn! TBH there’s not much to it a few stalls etc but don’t expect too much. That said, for me it was worth it just for the experience.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 March 2024
- NapsterthecatHuntsville, Alabama1,333 contributionsBucket list itemWe went in mid-March so there were only a few people there. Parking was no issue, but I could see it being a problem if crowded. Not much else in the area but the four corners were very interesting to see. You have to pay a small fee but it’s worth it. Recommend bringing your own water, snacks and food.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 31 March 2024

Although it’s cool to stand in 4 states at one time, the time and $8 PER PERSON entrance fee is not worth it. Tell me Navajo Nation, where does the money from the entrance fee go?? The toilets are pit toilets, no problem, but NONE of the doors on the toilets lock! Here’s a thought: charge per car. When people don’t feel ripped off at the gate, they’ll be more amenable to spending money with the vendors.

It's a neat idea, but north worth the long drive! The place is run down and dirty. They charge 8 per person, NO discounts, age, veterans, etc.. The only souvenirs were all Indian motifs, several private vendors like a flea market. Food..two options shaved ice and a dirty food truck. Bathrooms were awful.....as long as you know what it is and what it isnt.

We drove to Four Corners Monument because we were only an hour away after visiting Mesa Verde National Park. It seemed foolish to miss the opportunity when we were so close. I’m glad we went, but just be prepared that it is a bit of a tourist trap. And if you’re ok with that, then go. I was and wanted to say I had seen the site. It costs $8 per person and the four of us were there 45 minutes tops. And we did it all and slowly. The Four Corners Monument is a large circle on the pavement showing where AZ, UT, CO, and NM meet. You can stand (or lay) on the monument in a variety of ways to touch all four states at once. It wasn’t crowded today when we were there, but there is a sign that states on crowded days, you are limited to only 3 photos per group. That could be frustrating after spending $8 per person! Surrounding the monument is a flea market with booths manned by local artists - gorgeous handmade pottery and jewelry. There’s also arrowheads and the usual t-shirts, magnets, Christmas ornaments, etc, all proclaiming “Four Corners.” It was 102 degrees there today and there is no shade, so hydrate!!

Unlike some others, coming from the UK I was very excited to be in four states at once and think the $5 entrance fee was well worth it! A great novel idea. Some lovely Navajo stall holders too with great knowledge and nice souvenirs. So glad we made the journey. After reading poor reviews I didn’t use the restrooms but instead used them at Teec Nos Apis, the local trading post, they were immaculate!

Per person admission of $8 seems a bit high for what it is, but we really wanted to see/do this & would've paid more. The place is under control of the Navajo nation & we bought some postcards & handmade items while there. There are stone pedestals with information in each state, & we actually learned some things while here. I'm really glad we made this little detour.

As we were visiting Durango, Colorado and had not been to the other states, we decided to visit FourCorners, so we could check those off the bucket list. We were a little surprised that the monument, which is simply a photo op, was $8 per person and the parking area was not paved. Because it was winter, they had snow/rain so the ground was extremely muddy (thick mud) and all of our shoes were completely ruined. Still… I’m giving it 4 stars, since it was a neat photo op and they had many Navajo artisans surrounding the monument selling handmade goods (bring cash!). Only disappointment was our rental car was kind of ruined by all the mud and there was no other way to get in or out of the monument without slushing in it.

While it is a novelty to be able to say you stood/sat in 4 states at the same time, the cost of $8 per person is a bit high. Basically the site is a marker surrounded by a "flea market". The marker is surrounded by a circle of kiosks where various items are sold ( souvenirs, t-shirts, etc.). Unless you are traveling thru the area between other sites, I would not make the trip.

Was here many years back. We were the only ones in the place. Traveling thru the area and one of my kids really wanted to see it. Entrance fee is pricey, parking lot was bumpy and lots of ruts. But what really surprised me was the crowds. Mid march, a Tues morning and the place was packed. Sign says limit 3 photos - yeah right. Long lines of people waiting for photo op on the center circle. Everyone seemed to be patient especially when some family were taking as many photos as they could. We took a couple of photos, sat and waited, got back in line. Also ate our lunch here. Figured we paid $8 a person, might as well stay for a spell. Many of the booths around the monument were open with vendors. Didnt buy, but the smell of the Fry Bread was tempting. Daughter bought items from one vendor. I commented on the crowds. She responded that many days in the summer the line stretches outta the circle area and back to the parking lot. Was it worth the $8 ??? Little steep for a 3 min photo op. Have happy kid due to the stop. She can cross it off her bucket list.

On our family vacation my 14 year old son wanted to see the 4 corners monument and be able to say he had stood in four states at one time. We agreed that this would be a cool experience. Much to our dismay we found that this experience would cost us $8 per person. This would have been a $40 charge for 30 minutes I checked what we would be receiving for our $8 per person. The opportunity to view the monument, shop Native American booths and purchase Native American food. I don’t have a problem paying for the opportunity to visit National Parks and a parking fee for national monuments. But $8 per person was excessive in my opinion. When we originally researched this out, the official sight did not say there would be an $8 charge per person.

Official website lists summer hours as closing time of 6:45pm. Google lists summer closing time as 5:45pm.
Does anyone know what time they actually close in the summer?
thank you

We are planning a trip to Utah. We want to fly into the closest airport to the four corners and then drive to Utah. What else is there to see?
Written 27 February 2024
North Rim of the Grand Canyon, which gets only 10% of the traffic as the main South Rim. Monument Valley of the Navajo reservation is also a must. Be advised there are long distances out in this part of the States. It's all relative.

Planning a stop here in few weeks. Website says that of Aug 2022 there is still a face mask requirement. Can anyone confirm if this policy is still in place and if its being enforced?
Written 10 January 2023
We didn’t wear masks and I do not recall anyone else wearing them.

From the map, it looks like there may be a road/trail that loops the monument. 1) is that correct? 2) if yes, are there signs where each state starts? 3) is the road open before/after the monument or same time as the monument?
Written 25 December 2021
To my knowledge, there is no public road that loops the monument. Remember that this is on Navajo land… the general public is not permitted to travel some roads. The road is open when the monument is open. At the monument, each state is clearly marked.

Hi
We are planning a trip west for the week of September 13th and wanted to go to Four Corners
I am wondering if it will be open as things seem to be changing daily
thanks for the help

Is it possible to get through to the 4 corners and take a picture of where the 4 states meet? Or, are the roads blocked where you can't access it at all? Thank you!
Written 27 February 2021
where do the 4 corners really meet---? thanks, Stephanie

Four Corners is located off US 160 just North of Teec Nos Pos, AZ, on Navajo Nation Park Land. US Highway 160 runs from AZ to CO. Admission is $5 per person. However, as I understand, the site is closed at present due to Covid 19 restrictions.

I see that as of today (7/7/20), it is still closed. Anyone know the status reopening?
Written 7 July 2020
No. I'm still shielding in the UK!
Written 7 July 2020
Yes, The parking log is gravel and un-marked; you can park large vehicles there. But they still charge $5 a head, no matter how many are in the vehicle.
