This area is rich in history, Waipawa being one of the oldest towns in New Zealand. Well worth a stop in Waipawa to visit this museum. Friendly and helpful staff were there to answer any queries. The museum has great displays and the museum committee are a credit to Waipawa.

Some interesting exhibits and very enthusiastic staff, but for me, there was no story. It was a jumble of artifacts.

Well worth the stop, full of memorabilia of early NZ , give you a good idea of the struggles the early settlers experienced. Makes you appreciate what we have today. See the waka remnants in the big exhibition room too.

Went in on our way to another location with only an hour to see the the exhibits. It was a wonderful display of several different exhibits. Every item was wonderfully explained and some allowed interaction. Would recommend this to anyone who is in the area

A massive variety of items in the compact museum. Loads of history has been preserved in and around the museum. They have special days where activities are set up, so you can be hands on.
