We did the night program which included dinner and night sky orientation using naked eyes binoculars and telescopes. A beautiful setting. Well presented

This is right place to go if you like astronomy. You can visit lots of telescopes. Recommend to see McMath-Pierce Solar Telescope, it is the world's largest solar telescope. They offer several nighttime stargazing programs. Check the time before you go.

A beautiful drive to the top allows you to see different vegetation zones as you go from Sonoran desert at the bottom to pine/oak forests. Free parking at the top and free visitor center. Small gift shop and some interesting astronomy exhibits. Nice views. Visitors...More

Most evening events require you to arrive at the Peak by 4:00. It is safest to reserve ahead of time because there is limited space and people are turned away, even during weekdays. The length is dependent on which program... More

You'll be walking. It's a rather long drive up a steep and winding road to the observatory. Once there you have to walk -- although it's not far. Maybe 5 8 minutes to a lookout to watch the sunset, then back down again... More
