Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hikers that we are, the car is left at the resort and, trekking poles in hand, the climb up Schnebly Road calls to us. And we answer. Pink Jeeps pass us but the road is big enough for us all.

The walk along the path offers view opportunities at dirt level (gorgeous flowers) and at the level of the heavens. It is peaceful and is a fairly easy walk with the trekking poles.

I hope you are ready to do some serious off roading. Get your 4x4 and hit this trail. An absolute gem. Yes this is one of many trails you can hit in Sedona. It is long and about medium difficulty, but even an amateur like myself can get through it. I took my #TundraTRDPro and it took it like a champ. Mind you my Tundra is stock. No modifications whatsoever. Once you get near the top the view is incredible. A Rock at the top which is very easy to reach by foot provides stunning... and I mean STUNNING view of the whole valley. Intimidating yet serene, it is a place one must see. Obviously the ascend took longer than the descent. And not the road is not narrow, providing plenty of room for two way traffic. At any point you can make a stop, get off and enjoy nature. Not heavily trafficked by vehicles either which is perfect. And best of all... it is FREE! The views from Schnebly Hill and the drive to it are AMAZING!!!! This is NOT a typical drive, it is very primitive. Highly recommend renting from one of the local ATV rentals vs using your own 4x4 truck like we did. If you use your own 4x4 will need high clearance. The scenery is absolutely worth making this kidney shaking drive (make sure you go to the bathroom prior to making this trek).

If you have the ability to rent a Jeep or off-road type vehicle-do not miss this! The views, especially at sunset, are the best around! We had a Jeep, and while the road is bumpy and interesting, it is a fun ride. The views are unlike anything you’ve ever seen.

This is a very popular morning drive for the Pink Jeep crowd, and rightly so, for the views of downtown Sedona are perfectly lit for great photos. This is also the parking lot for several trails. Marg's Draw is a mellow morning hike that provides a scenic and tranquil experience away from the maddening crowd. Get out of you car and take a walk!

You get to this location by driving up Schnebly Hill Rd. If you are in a vehicle that is NOT a high clearance stop and park your car in the lot. There is a trail but if you don't have a vehicle it is 4.5 miles each way to the Vista. Take a tour with one of the commercial Jeep companies in Sedona to avoid an expensive towing bill and damage to your vehicle.

Some great views over the town with the iconic red rocks in the background. The scenic area is just a short walk from the parking area.

Take in the views and the history of Schnebly Hill from the back of one of the many Jeep rides available. I encourage as close to sunset as possible. The light and shadow enhances the beauty. As you bounce up the hill in a Jeep, think of the early cattle drives up the hill for summer pasture and back down for winter cover, close to 1500 feet change in elevation.

Our 4 Runner effortlessly made the trek down Schnebly Hill. The views of Sedona and the Red Rocks! We stopped frequently to hike and take photos.
