We always love "off the beaten path" routes, but perhaps we went a little too far on this one. It's 12 miles from rte 17 to Sedona on this dirt road, but it took over 2 hours in an F350, if that gives you any...More
I must admit, we took this road at a very bad time. It was at night during a rainstorm so that had a lot to do with this review. We were coming home from Flagstaff and Hwy 117 was at a standstill. We knew Schnebly...More
This was a really fun day trip. We have a big jeep so the rocks didn't bother us but an all wheel drive or SUV can make this trip very easily. It is very bumpy, no obstacles though. Go very early in morning and take...More
We did this road with Pink Jeep Tours. It was a very rough ride but our group had a lot of fun and there are some stunning views. Definitely would not recommend this for anyone with back or neck problems or if you are prone...More
My girlfriend and I have been wanting to do this trail for a while in our Jeep Wrangler. Ended up going this time and we really enjoyed the trail. Pretty Rocky and long enough to have fun. There are also some amazing views along the...More
SUV or Truck suggested for better ground clearance ,albeit I got about 6 miles in to Schnebly Hill Vista point for this Photograph in a FWD Camry / no worries. One of the most Incredible Drive's One Can Take in Arizona period.
You can take the Pink Jeep tour or other transporters but this off-road truck trail can be negotiated in a Mercedes SUV with 9 inches of clearance with judicial selection of course over the road. We got an ovation from the Pink Jeep Tour groups...More
Rent a atv, empty your kidneys, and take a long exciting and tooth rattling ride up Schnebly Hill Road. The top is over 6000 feet up, with scenery that cannot be believed. Go slow, pay attention, you may see javelinas on the trail. I saw...More
Had planned to run up Schnebly road to run on any one of several nice local trails and had done so the day previously and had a nice run.
While turning left and uphill on Schnebly Road out of the RV park where we were...More
The ride is only worthwhile during the daytime with good visibility so you can enjoy the views. So only downhill from I-17 into Sedona. No other reason on earth to take this trip unless you want to have a 4-wheel-drive... More

Assume you mean Jeep Compass? Anyway, as noted by someone else, 8" just enough, but the drive will be very slow (probably close to 2 hours for about 10 km.) and find out if the Compass has 4wd, I would not attempt with with... More
Assume you mean Jeep Compass? Anyway, as noted by someone else, 8" just enough, but the drive will be very slow (probably close to 2 hours for about 10 km.) and find out if the Compass has 4wd, I would not attempt with with 2wd. However, interesting road, you could consider renting either a regular jeep or jeep with guide to do the trip in Sedona. Pink Jeep tours are extremely popular. You will love the scenary in Sedona.
