Sunset at the Airport Mesa was amazing about 3-4$ to park at the airport parking lot was worth it, the views were over 180 degrees of valley and red rocks. There are trails to get you away from the crowds, and there are lots of people at sunset! I’m so in love with Nature despite it was very Hot but time spent There Was worth it ......It’s wonderful to go on the trail and enjoy the changing scenery.

The tiny, 10-space lot at the trailhead was of course full. There is good turnover since many people parking are just taking a view photo. Not realizing that, we paid three dollars to park 0.6 miles up at the airport and hiked back to the trail head. You experience views of many of the major rock formations as you hike around this high mesa. After the sharp u-turn that is beyond the halfway point, look for a split in the trail. You can choose to continue on the actual trail back to the trailhead. If you've parked at the airport, then you need to hike back up the 0.6 miles Or, you can take the trail to the right and skirt along the airport to get you back to your car if it is in the airport parking lot. The best tourist map we found was the one given to us when we parked at the airport!

Nice views!!!! Get there early because the parking lot is very small and it won’t be space for sure. We got there at 9:15 and it was only 1 parking lot available and by the time we left cars were waiting to park.

Gorgeous place to take in the sunrise! We missed the little parking alcove on the left on the way up....keep your eyes peeled if it is before sunrise, it's easy to miss. We ended up parking in the airport parking lot. If you do, find the front right corner of the lot (facing the road) and go right to the little rocky trail (stay left) go through the gate on the left and follow the trail to the outlook - it took us about 15-20 minutes I think. We followed Airport Loop after sunrise. Keep in mind that loop ends back where it starts, then we had to take the trail back up to the airport parking. So, park in that alcove if you can! I heard this trail can be very busy. Going early helps. We probably only ran into a handful of people and a dog:) Powerful vortex tingles near the lookout and pictures are perfection from anywhere on these trails!
