Doe Mountain is a favorite of mine. The trail goes up the side of Doe Mesa, give yourself a half hour or so to get to the top, more if you are not use to our 4500 elevation or not a hiker. Once one top...More

Took advice of some locals and started our climb about an hour and half before sunset time. Took us 45 min to hike up gradual switchbacks to top. Explored the upper part and found a nice spot to watch the sun beginning its descent around...More

My family just visited Sedona, and did the Doe Mountain Trail hike. It was not really very hard, but of course was incredibly beautiful. My 10 and 14 year old sons did it easily. When you get to the top, keep going (follow the arrow...More

The trail leads to the top of a mesa with spectacular views in most directions. Maps tend to show a circular trail on top of the mesa, but signs lead you instead across the mesa to great views to the south and east--perhaps to save...More

We did two hours before sunset, so we had enough time to return and it was amazing views. I recommend return before sunset otherwise it gets really dark so quick.

A friend recommended this hike. My family loved it. The top is a real treat where you can walk around and enjoy views in all directions. Allow time to relax and enjoy the mesa before hiking down.

This hike took us about 2 1/2 hours to complete. The trail is very narrow at some spots and has a few steep climbs. Once at the top you take a short walk to the opposite side and the views are amazing. Well worth the...More

Yes, there are trails everywhere, try to get a map of the area. The Sedona Chamber of Commerce is a great source or the US Forest Service!

Agree with Ron below about Bear Mountain. If you go to Boynton Canyon/Kachina Woman around 10 am you may catch Robert there playing the Native American flute from the top of the pillar. Magical! If the Earth could sing... More

The hill is a steep plateau but without drop offs that are worrysome.
