Fun short trail; recommend bringing a backpack to keep your hands free
Aug. 2021
This is a great short and fun trail with great and different views of Sedona. It is steep and in parts you may need your hands to grab onto other rocks for balance, so recommend you bring anything you need in a backpack to keep your hands free. I didn't and so was constantly jugging my water bottle at the end.

Others on the trail were doing the same thing and one family got stuck in a few places. Having your hands free would avoid all of this.

But beautiful trail and relatively quick climb, so very doable and enjoyable.

Big parking lot so no parking issues.

This a nice trail to hike and see the views. It is a moderate trail and you should plan on taking your time on it.

Short, moderately difficult hike, but with terrific views!
Jul. 2021
We loved this hike because the views were spectacular, and we got a pretty good workout climbing the entire way up, but the hike is short enough that it did not take us all day to complete. I recommend getting there around 7am before the heat and too many other hikers roll in.

The best trail!
Mar. 2021
This was probably our favorite hike in Sedona. Once you make it up to the top, it’s flat and the views are amazing.

Unexpected View From Top!
Jun. 2021
This was one of my favorite trails in Sedona. Views from top of Mesa are great...I especially enjoyed looking out over Courthouse Mesa and Bell Rock. If you climb this Mesa with ease, consider hiking the Bear Mountain trail (directly across the street from parking lot)...Views from the top of Bear Mountain dwarf those seen from Doe Mountain.

Breathtaking views, beautiful trail.

We loved this hike! Not too crowded at 7:00AM and it elevated quickly and had amazing views! Our favorite hike in Sedona. Not much shade on the trail so this one is beat to do early if it’s hot.

Great climb in early afternoon
Jun. 2021
My adult daughter and I wanted to get Doe Mountain in on our recent visit to Sedona, but the only time we could fit it in to our schedule was in the early afternoon. We hesitated given the heat but ended up being pleasantly surprised! We started our climb at 1:30 and were the only people on the trail (needless to say, parking was not a problem). There was plenty of shade along the way if we needed to stop. And once we reached the top, there
was also plenty of shade and a nice breeze so we spent time exploring and enjoying the views from different parts of the mesa. This trail is a switchback and there were quite a few step-like formations to climb so may not be the best if you have knee problems. We also noted that a family with smaller children started up the trail and turned back once they hit some of the narrow parts of the trail.

Hike with a Big Payoff
May 2021
Doe Mesa Trail is a great moderate hike with a big payoff - spectacular views. We did this one with a private guide from Pink Jeep Tours; Mike guided us well and took plenty of pictures of us on our experience. Got there around 8:30am on a Thursday and parking still available; only met a few other hikers. Enjoyed the "less crowded" feel this hike gave. I would do this one again.

Totally unexpected experience!!!
May 2021
Early morning hike allowed us to do the entire trail to the summit without seeing another person. Awesome!!! The trail is a string of switchbacks with many trails to explore at the top. It’s so easy, when descending, we passed a family with a 3 yr old, 4 yr old, and a baby in a belly pack on the mom! The view overlooking Sedona is spectacular and changes as the sun rises. We saw hot air balloons to the west, so we hiked over to the ridge on the west side. Standing there, we could hear not only the hot air balloon burns to rise, but also the people talking. One floated toward us, we waved & said good morning to each other. Then it descended below the mountain summit and rose again on the other side…what an amazing experience to be standing on top of a mountain looking DOWN at the top of a hot air balloon!

Wonderful, short hike
May 2021
Really enjoyed this hike. It’s dry and dusty but that’s to be expected. Well maintained easy to follow trail. It’s basically a bunch of switchbacks to get to the mesa on top. Some areas are narrow and can be thought of as steep. My heights-beware spouse had to turn around pretty quickly and go sit in the car. It’s beautiful at the top with astounding views. No railings and there are definitely drop offs if you wander near the edges. The whole trip took me about 1 ½ hours and included lots of picture taking. There is a Red Rocks parking pass required that is $5. Credit card only.
