This was one of the most disappointing experiences I've ever had golfing.

I had heard so many times how beautiful 7 Canyons Golf Club was and was really looking forward to playing it. People had told me, even during the summer, how lush the fairways were. Not true.

As I drove up to the clubhouse, I noticed that the two holes that run along side the club house were very brown. I was hoping that this was an aberration and the others were in better shape. They weren't.

In short, the reviews of the golf course I received in the past didn't match up with the actual conditions of the course. There wasn't one hole that I would call "memorable". All in all, not a good experience at all.

I paid a lot of money for the opportunity to play 7 Canyons. It wasn't money well spent. There are several other courses in Sedona that are in better shape than this track and a better value.

Oh, well, you win some, you lose some. This one was a total loss.

We are sorry to hear of your review and we appreciate your feedback. Although no reason can change your experience, we have had excessive heat this summer along with failing irrigation in areas that have been addressed. Our General Manager along with our agronomy team have surveyed the entire course and created an action plan to improve overall quality. We are doing our best to keep the quality of our course in optimal levels and continue our pursuit of creating the best golf experience in Sedona. Thank you!

When my wife decided to surprise me with a nice weekend up in Sedona and a round of golf for my birthday I was super excited. Everywhere I looked said the Seven Canyons was the place to play. So I booked the tee time. I was expecting, " The Pebble Bach of Arizona" or " Carpet green fairways with greens that roll amazing" none of this was true. The fairways were cratered with divots, the fairways look like they havent been cut in a couple of days, And from the tee box I couldnt tell where the fairway and the rough were. What I thought was a great line and a great shot turned out to be a shot in the rough, All because you you cant tell where the fairway was and the rough is.

Then the greens....... Slow. Bumpy. Slow. Shaggy. Horrible. I would have a down hill putt with the grain, and the ball would stop way short. It was like i couldnt hit it hard enough on the green. Even worse, the green wouldnt break the way that it read. probably one of those bogus vortexes messing with the ball or something.

The views werent even that stunning. I live in Phoenix and I play courses that have much better views. Troon north, Boulders, Gold Canyon, Superstition Mountain, Greyhawk, Talking Stick, all of these courses have much better views.

Maybe I am a "Golf Snob", But I thought that Seven Canyons wasn't worth the money, I have played better municipal courses with a price half as much. save your money and go to Kens Creekside and enjoy their amazing food....

Over all Sedona is an amazing place, Seven Canyons I wouldn't play it again even if they comped me a round.....

The layout of the course and the spectacular setting is amazing. I've played lots of courses and feel that Seven Canyons is an all time best experience. The staff is helpful and professional.

I'll never forget Seven Canyons...made my first hole-in-one on #7 with a 7 iron.

Had the opportunity to play here and it was worth both the hassle to get on and the fee. Great views, challenging course. And the driving range - have never seen a better setting for a range. Quality staff and overall great experience.

I was extremely disappointed with Seven Canyons. I tried to get a first hand look at the course before putting down over $100 for a desert course in June, but was turned away at the gated property. After being assured by the staff at Enchantment Resort that the course was in very good condition, I was dismayed to see that the fairways and greens were both well below par. Grass on the tee boxes was much too high. While the scenery was certainly wonderful, I found the course to be tedious, with too many blind shots. The 18th hole was probably the most disappointing hole on the course, devoid of scenery and architectural nuance. A very mundane pro shop. Not a good value for the money. Much more expensive than Grayhawk in Scottsdale and not nearly as nice. Don't buy into all the hype about Seven Canyons.

This is a great scenic spot. It was a $3.00 charge. It is a great view in a private community that is being developed. It is definitely off of the beaten path.

Just wanted to let everyone know, who is in the middle income range and had enjoyed having the opportunity to play a reasonably nice golf course with spectacular views, that it's no longer possible at Seven Canyons Golf Resort. In previous years (since their bankrupcy) it was possible to play 18 holes with a cart anytime after 2:00pm for $50.00. Since they're now under "new management" the afternoon rate is $95.00. For those of us who are not on the PGA tour and simply enjoy playing the game to best of our ability while thouroughly enjoying breath taking views, it truly is disappointing. There's a vast difference between my wife and I paying $100.00 versus $200.00, especially during these trying economic times when disposable income is continuing to dwindle. I'm hopeful they'll reconsider in the near future, but until that happens our best hope is enjoying the memories of playing in times past.

As for the actual course and it's personnel, the friendliest person by far was the young man loading our clubs on the cart. The young lady at the pro shop was stand-offish and you couldn't find any other personnel with a search warrant. It was pretty easy to stand on more than one tee box and wonder which direction you were going as there were no course management books available. Since the javalenas have free range on the course they wreak havoc on the fairways and enjoy using the sandtraps for their personal litterbox, which again raises the question of workers (or lack thereof) attempting to stay on top of those problems. But in all fairness the views make most of these hurdles easier to live with. I would play there again if they made there rates more appealing for playing during their less than attractive times. I would think that having folks willing to pay $100.00 a couple vs. others not willing to pay the $200.00 couples rate would be a no-brainer. I know of three other couples who also refuse to play there since the rate hike.

Ive played Sedona golf club and oak creek before playing here so I was very much looking forward to it, after reading some reviews on it I had made sure I was going too buy a course planner....I turned up to the club (welcomed nicely and clubs taken to the buggy) and then went to the shop to buy one and they said they don't have any and haven't had any for 2 weeks, also I collect ball markers on courses I've played and they didn't sell them either, very frustrating. After playing the course I was left annoyed as the course needs better directions (we got lost) and its got lots of dog legs and you just need a course planner, overall the course was ok but not as good as Sedona

This was by far the most insulting dining experience I've ever had. The place was empty upon arrival and now I know why. Multiple courses served all together, main entrees incomplete with the cook "no where to be found" according to our waitress. We couldn't even get drink refills or salt & pepper to the table. No manager on site. When I complained at the bar, I was told that a manager would only tell me that I was dressed inappropriately in jeans. Really? You drove me to the location of the restaurant by golf cart. You sat me. You took my order and made an attempt to serve me... and when I speak up about horrible service, you insult me in an effort to quiet my reasonable complaints. Ashley was the person I spoke to and I'd love for her to lose her job after this fiasco. I know that's what I will be telling GM, Joe Gaffney, first thing in the morning.

Understaffed and waite staff overworked. Waiters are pro's and certainly earn their wages, although they are not permitted to accept tips! Seven Canyons takes the lion share of your dining bill, which I find very peculiar considering how hard food servers work! The food is marginal since a great chef named "Dan" left Seven Canyons. This is one of those places that kind of turns my stomach. Oh, yes, and then there are all those golf snobs prancing around thinking they are so "special."
