A lot of the prior reviews said do not take hiking poles with. I felt my poles helped a lot. We went up much of the steep front but the final section appeared to be rock climbing and I was not comfortable doing it. Very...More

We stopped here after a longer hike earlier in the day to see Cathedral Rock, which is impressive. We walked up to the vertex only and the trail is very easy and it is a short walk. That area has some nice views. Because of...More

This is one of our favorite hikes because it's relatively easy and gets you to areas quickly with tremendous views of the area. Parking can be an issue so getting there early (before 9AM) pretty much assures you of a parking spot. Otherwise, it can...More

Cathedral Rock is recognizable from countless post cards, films, and promotional videos. The views are priceless, albeit this hike is not for everyone. From the more popular Eastern access off of 179, this is a moderate to strenuous hike which includes some rock scrambling from...More

As long as it’s not a billion degrees, this is a fun climb. It is easy-moderate, especially if you take your time. There are several places where steps have been chipped into the rock to make climbing a bit easier. Take breaks and look around...More

What a hike! Come in on Baldwin to Templeton for views from Oak Creek side too...or right at Cathedral Rock spur. There is a scramble portion with high exertion to get to the saddle, but you can do it!

Take your time and look around. As the sun moves the colors change! The landscape you see in the morning is different from what you see in the afternoon!

I think it took us no more than 3 hours to get to the top and back. We took our time, enjoyed the scenery and sat around at the top for a bit, before heading down. it's definitely worth it. Not overly strenuous at all
