I've driven through Oak Creek canyon a couple of times, both in winter and in summer. My latest trip there included camping and a hike up the West Fork of Oak Creek - both firsts. The Cave Springs campground (9 miles into the canyon from...More

Simply a breathtakingly beautiful place. You can't go wrong unless you drive this on a summertime Saturday. It is a traffice nightmare on the weekends.

I had read on TA before traveling that 89A was a slower route to Sedona, but very scenic. We had spent the day driving east toward flagstaff from Las Vegas through miles and miles of desert (that was also impressive to us as we live...More

This is a highlight of northern Arizona. It is about a sixteen mile long 3,000 foot descent from the the high altitude Flagstaff area to Sedona, at middle altitude, with a corresponding change in scenery and vegetation along the way. Beautiful formations, more distinctive at...More

I drove from North to South through the canyon on 89A. Before descending into the canyon there is a nice lookout point. There are many Native American stands there selling wares, but it was nice...not cheesy. After enjoying the view from above, I was looking...More

There is no question that Oak Creek and Sedona are some of the most beautiful destinations in the US. However, in the past year, because of road construction and development many of the attractions in this area are much harder to see and access. Many...More

This would be a lovely drive, but few places would be wheelchair accessible. I would recommend stopping at the Junipine Lodge for lunch. The food is wonderful and I think I recall that they have a wheelchair ramp.
