Great spot for a family picnic and swim with some spectacular views. A short hike takes you to the swimming area where people stand in line to slide through a water chute. We took a nice hike overlooking the swim area.

I went to the Slide Rock State Park with my 2 teens. One wanted to particiapte in the water slide and one did not. It is located about 20 minutes outside of Sedona and it is an easy walk tfrom the parking area to the area where the slide is located. Eneternce fee is $10. The water is indeed cold... More

The beauty alone was worth the $20 entry fee. Plenty of parking. Some nice historical buildings and education elements. Fun recreational opportunities for the family. Overall it was a great experience. However, it was not flawless. We were less enthusiastic about the clothing worn ( or lack there of) by some visitors and the music listened to by others. This... The cool clear water on a hot day will take you back to childhood. The slide is fairly short but the swift water makes it fun! We went on a weekday and the crowds weren't bad at all, but weekends are probably a crush.

This state park has short hiking trails, but the highlight is the swimming areas. While we didn't go in the water, it seemed that many people, young children to parents, thoroughly enjoyed sliding down the rocks and swimming in the natural pools. I could see that it could get very crowded during the summer though.

This is a wonderful family park for kids that can swim but be sure to leave your dog at home or with a caretaker unless one parent/ adult can stay with the dog away from the rocks/water.

This is a favorite spot for youngsters and families to picknick and swim in Oak Creek. We went for a hike higher up alongside the river, but it soon turned out te be a bit dangerous; the gravel was slippery and there's nothing to hold on to. Not suited for unexperienced hikers like us. It's well worth a visit, but... More

Stopping at the Slide Rock Park gets you a wonderful view of the rocks that form the coolest water slide! On a hot Arizona day this is the place to be! The park has volleyball areas and a concession area. The park charges a $ 20.00. Fee per car so keep this in mind before you go!

A natural waterpark in Oak Creek Canyon providing the locals and tourists with water play and sunshine along with very nice picnic areas on an historic homestead complete with apple orchard.

This was a special treat as we decided to go through flagstaff on our way home from Sedona. This was such a beautiful spot for hiking and we will be returning.
