Did the accent to the summit this morning.at 5:35am. Parking lot does not open till roughly 30 minutes before sunrise, however we were lucky that the overflow lot was not gated when we arrived. The climb was moderately easy with the last .8 miles of...More

The 1.2 mile trail is very difficult, but worth it for the view.Another 0.6 mile to Sunrise Peak was abandoned when we thought of the energy required to come back down. Get your map at the 124th street trailhead. Water but no restrooms .

Sunrise Trail is not just out and back. There are options that break off the main trail. The map at the beginning did not seem to be correct regarding the mileages, so we did not know how far we went. We did reach one view...More

We have hiked the Sunrise on three occasions when we've visited Scottsdale. Depending on what day you go, the smallish parking lot can be full, like on weekends after 10:00 am, but there is an overflow parking lot a short ways down the road. In...More

We went in January so it wasn't too crowded for parking, but the lot filled in quick. There is an overflow lot just below. It's good to go early, no matter what time of year. But if you want a sweat hike, it empties out...More

This was my second trip to Sunrise Peak Trail, This trip was with my wife. We both are beginners for hiking and we enjoyed the hike. If you are planning then carry a bag pack with couple of bottles of water, sun glasses or cap.

When I lived in Scottsdale Mountain I hiked this trail several times a week. It is stunning in its desert beauty, has a moderate uphill to start and then levels out if you want a longer trail when it meets Lost Dog on the back...More

Left our nearby hotel and arrived at the trailhead at 7:30am. We had a great climb (even with the 90degree heat) and made it to the summit. We were back in the car by 10:00am. Beautiful views all around. Even the estate homes in the...More

It's almost 4 miles round trip and there's a small parking lot where you can park (which wasn't full on a Tuesday morning) . This is a good hike that isn't too challenging and offers really great, 360 degree views from the top. Highly recommend...More
