Parking is the worst part of visiting the mountain but if you visit after 11 AM on the weekday you'll probably have good luck. It is steep and loose and there are many paths.

Come early for a parking spot. This hike was incredibly busy on Christmas day. There are parking attendants on the north side of the mountain. The views from the trail are great. Take water, and fyi, there was no outhouse.

Great hike! Locals were very helpful when we had questions about the path. Keep in mind there’s an “easy” side and a “hard” side.

This is a very steep, and popular mountain. You will meet all sorts of people when climbing it. Do not underestimate it. I see helicopters going to rescue under prepared folks almost every day in the winter-spring season. The mountain is an iconic phoenix staple....More
