A general hike Camelback before the sun rises so that I can be on the top of the mountain when the sun does rise. It's a beautiful hike very easily done when it's not hot out. I do not recommend hiking the mountain during a...More

Amazing view from the top! Not an easy climb but well worth the effort. I went up Echo Canyon Trail and found the other climbers to be helpful and friendly. Not for people who don't like heights but you only have to go as far...More

58 years old and 30lbs overweight, i made it to post 25 on the Cholla Trail without any problems. Go early, 0700, take your time, drink water and anyone can do this part of the hike. It is after post 25 that the hike turns...More

Got up early to get a parking space along the residential road to walk to the trail entrance. Walk to casual pace and it’s about 45 to 50 minutes up depending on how many pictures you take and if you have to stop for other...More

Definitely worth the ride every time! Breathtaking views. Ice cold water that the kids can dip in. It’s about 1.5 hours away but the views are stunning. That’s my son sunning at the top after sliding down a natural slide made of rock with ice...More

My wife, 2 daughters and I hiked Camelback Mountain (Echo Trail) on Monday, 11/27/17. Let me tell you, that hike is DIFFICULT. My daughters kept me going with words of encouragement, I'm pretty sure that's the only thing that got me to the top of...More

Camelback mountain is in the middle of Scottsdale. Fabulous homes all around and cool hiking on the mountain and around the valley. Close to old town, the canal, Fashion mall and dozens of great restaurants.

Climbed Echo trail with the kids (5, 7, and 8). There are plenty of spots along the way to stop and take in the beautiful views. It was worth the hike up and the kids had no trouble completing it. You don’t need fancy gear...More

Hard to find parking unless you go really early in the morning. Then they put up the cones to block you from coming in to park. The hike was easy at the bottom but got progressively harder. Make sure you bring 2 bottles of water...More

As soon after sunrise as possible. If you're driving and it's a weekend, parking can fill up quickly. And you beat the heat.
