Camelback Mountain is located in the heart of Phoenix and has two challenging summit trails: Echo and Cholla. Echo approaches the summit from the west and Cholla from the east. Echo has parking, but it is relatively small for the number of people hiking this trail and there is no other parking close by. A reasonable option would be to... More

What a great walk. You have to park a bit away and walk to the rock. It's easy, but just set your expectations. The walk starts up, of course, but not too hard. By the end, you're really walking up and over big rocks. So wear good shoes and bring water. We went in November, which was great weather! It... More

Nice place to hike and burn calories. Parking is tough though but can see nice view of valley from height. While driving near mountain is also scenic. Can capture nice pictures and view From paradise valley.

If you are up for the tough hike, the views are great! Bring your camera! To be ready - it's upwards of a mile to even get to the trail-head as there is no parking lot (& many cars were getting tickets on the street parking). Also make sure to bring plenty of liquids to keep hydrated, realizing at the... More

many times I visit a place the difficulty rating is incorrect. they usually are rated for couch potatoes, but this hike is extreme. I'm a regular runner, getting ready for a marathon in 10 weeks. I found this hike very challenging. we hiked in November with cool temps. don't know how folks can do this in the summer time. do... More

Echo canyon trail. Great hike, very challenging. Parking difficult. Lot was full. Ended up parking at the Barry Goldwater Memorial at the intersection of Tatum and Lincoln rds, about 1 mile away from trailhead. Worked out fine. No parking on area side roads allowed. If we had thought of it, we probably would have tried Uber, but it was Thanksgiving... More
