The Grand Canyon Caverns is located on Historic Route 66 just a few miles east of Peach Springs. They have a lot of cool artifacts and kitschy items to see like old classic cars, dinosaur statues, horseback riding, hiking and river rafting, and of course,...More

A hotel room in a cave! Strategic supplies! Fossilized bobcats! (Maybe) ghosts! 1950s cop cars hiding in the bushes! A fun excursion, especially with kids.

Received an amazing opportunity to spend a night in the cavern suite. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, and was even a bit nervous about the prospect of spending the night below ground. It was such an amazing experience. We took the standard tour...More

We went to the Grand Canyon Caverns which is awesome. Above grounds seems to be in a little need of some TLC but don't let that discourage you. The cavern entrance is a whole new world. Clean, wonderful and friendly staff with awesome tour guides....More

Wasn't the easiest place to find, but glad we did. Didn't really know what to expect as we had seen it on a leaflet from a hotel lobby so thought we would fit it in as we were passing that way. Once you get in...More

The tour of the caverns is interesting for both the structure and the mummification of animals that got lost in them. The tour has better lighting than may tourist caverns I have visited, thus permitting an excellent view of the walls and the survival food...More

The guides were informative about the history and development of the cave. We were fortunate to get there a few minutes before another tour was starting so we had no wait. You take an elevator 21 stories below the surface. There is short 20 min...More

Back when US 66 was famous as the road from Chicago to LA, this was a major stop for tourists. Now, the interstate highway has passed Route 66 by, leaving dozens of abandoned motels and gas stations. The caverns soldiers on. Frankly, I've seen more...More

This is a private land attraction, which means that it is not exactly park-like. It was discovered by a gentleman that thought he hit it rich on gold and diamonds and bought the land before knowing that he had a giant underground cavern of mineral...More

I don't recall having a refrigerator. No microwave, stove or toaster for sure. I agree with Charles...there is an outdoor barbecue area. Not sure if it is still useable. I saw vintage pictures inside the lobby of the area... More

They are about 60-65 miles away from the Grand Canyon. However the chambers do apparently connect! When trying to discover the source of the air for the caverns, they set off a red smoke bomb. Three weeks later, a park... More
