Don't come at high tide
Aug. 2018 • Couples
We chose the wrong time to visit this beach. It was a difficult drive down an unsealed rocky road and when we arrived the water was too high and waves too wild for swimming. There was alot of debris and rubbish washed up all over the beach too.

Nice color

It is somewhat difficult to get in this beach, mostly off-road, so 4wd will be a good option. I saw some cute domesticated animals such as baby pigs along the way. The color of the beach is beautiful with the harmony with the color of the rock!

4x4 best option

The beach/shoreline is stunning, really beautiful. The road in is a piece of crap. We had a regular car with already rubbish suspension (Samoan roads are terrible) and it was a rough old trip.

Idyllic beach

Everything you imagine a tropical island beach to be - crystal clear water, white sand, fish and coral, swaying palms. Plus no crowds at all when we were there.

Great snorkelling.
Dec. 2016 • Couples
We stayed at a resort on Salamumu Beach and the snorkelling was great, it did not seem to be as affected by the 2009 tsunami as the other end of the island, plenty of Fale's to relax in. We noticed a fair few surfers in this area as there are some breaks further out. The road getting is long, around 5kms of unsealed road so you move pretty slowly just so you are aware.

Beautiful Local Beach
Jan. 2017 • Family
Salamumu Beach is a local village beach, it is beautiful and quiet, great fishing spot for the locals. It's a little bit out of the way but worth the trip down the road.

Snorkelling fun
May 2016 • Couples
Along a dirt road off Main South Coast Road, you come across a beautiful stretch of water, and the pretty Salamumu Beach. Lovely snorkelling spot, and apparently good for serious surfers as well. We spent about an hour swimming and snorkelling, saw some pretty fish, coral mostly dead, but enjoyable none the less. Clear water, enjoyed very much.
