Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had visited Tierra Mayor Valley on the last day of February and the weather was cloudy with light showers and with cool temperatures when we had visited, but still nice enough for a good hike. We had selected this hiking tour from our cruise ship stop in Ushuaia - the tour was well organized and the guides provided us with a lot of useful information about this hike before we had started. The tour guides had "loaner" rubber hiking boots available to negotiate the marshy grass lands on the trail, or you can use your own hiking shoes/sneakers as long as they are waterproof because of the wet areas of the hiking trail.
Hiking through the Tierra Mayor Valley was listed as "moderately" difficult but we found hiking here not to bad at all - the hike was fun and the scenery was very good. The most challenging thing about this hike is trying to negotiate the wet, marshy grassland areas, and trying to hike up some slippery little hills - all not too bad.
I would highly recommend this hike through Tierra Mayor Valley for its great scenery - if do not mind stepping through wet, marshy grasslands.

I skied here for several weeks in August, A perfect base for cross country skiing in the valley. There are over 20 km of groom ski tracks, and excellent opportunities for ski tracking in the hills. To ski races start from here, 21 km and 42 km www.ushuaialoppet.com
They have excellent Nordic ski instruction as well.
The food is great, and during my visit I tasted almost everything on the menu. The Cordero, grilled lamb, and the Trout were my favorites. Great paella as well.

We did this extra tour not being part of our agency package. A bit expensive, paid 1800 Pesos per person (approximately USD 120 - kids get a discount), but it's well worth it. Dog sleds drawn by huskies. Each sled sitting four to five. Our kids (age 7 and 11) loved it. It took around 25 minutes before getting to our destination, a tent with a fireplace in the middle of the woods. Very cozy setting. Ate a hearty lentil stew and chicken sticks. Very good. One of the guides picked up a guitar and intoned Argentine and Brazilian songs. We were very lucky that night. Despite little snow (plenty of ice though), a full moon and only a few clouds provided a perfect backdrop to a great evening. Totally recommend this tour (at least in the winter).

They have nice track for cross country skiing.
The kids loved that but stay away from the dog sleds they are not worth it.
You get draged around 4 people on each slead at walking pace stopping every 20 seconds. I was expecting a fun ride for the kids and it ended up beeing a booring 3 km at walking pace sure the dogs where nice but a dog sled ride is suposed to be fast and exiting. Really disapointing.

The rides and attractions were brief and calm, not very thrilling if you're looking for some adrenaline. In the other hand my 4 y/o kid just loved, specially the snow sledge that could be thrown from a small slope in front of the lodge. There were good food, based on the roasted lamb, and a cafeteria, nothing too sophisticated but very cosy. The snowcat and dogs ride were a bit expensive in my opinion. The view was really beautiful but If you're looking for action (ski and snowboard) look for Cerro Castor.

Tierra mayor is very close to Ushuaia, we arranged a tour that picked us from the hotel and spent about 4 hours at this valley enjoying the ice. The place is very beautiful with a restaurant(well heated) having large outdoor terrace to relax and enjoy the view. Lot of activities are going on, like walking on ice(we did that at Calafate for one hour and half and was very interesting),ski and ice rides. We did two sorts of rides, the first one, we drove a motorcar for about 30 minutes on ice and was very good experience, the second one, we used the cars that are dragged by dogs, again for other 20 minutes and enjoyed it. The dogs are very peaceful and friendly, they are as well very good looking with blue eyes(I am a fan dogs and had two lovely ones back home). This tour was our highlight at Ushuaia and we just loved it and had so many photos to remind us with this nice place.

Hola! No sabrÃa decirte porque en nuestro caso, la visita a Valle Tierra Mayor la tenÃamos incluida en otra excursión...
De todas maneras, tené en cuenta que el precio varÃa según la época en que vayas y las actividades a realizar también.
Saludos!!!
