Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You simply have to take this hike if you're in the area. you'll go through diverse landscapes - forest, river, peat, hills, lagoons and glacier! - and it's just breathtaking. Very reasonable entrance price too! Buses leave from the tourism office in Ushuaia. Sadly I have to give them thumbs down for the dog-sledding animals, about 30 dogs tied up most of the year until sledding season starts :( very sad sight. But other than that, gorgeous place, don't miss it!

What an excellent little stop where they are training huskies as sled dogs. You have wonderful access to the dogs and you'll learn a ton from the trainers who clearly love what they do. If you're lucky, book a bbq meal at the lodge.

The Valley of Wolves is a great place to visit during winter. We did the walk through the valley and the view is amazing! We also did the dog sledge tour which is a very different experience – it is good to see how the dogs have fun! And to close the visit we had lunch there – good local typical food (and prices are fair)! Important to note that they do not accept any credit cards, only cash.

We toured to Laguna Esmeralda with Valley of Wolves. It was a GREAT hike but the tour guide did not pay attention to our safety. My friend was almost lost and we hiked in the pitch dark. Not planned well enough.

The tour we took involved driving to the valley, snowshoeing out to the fire area, then riding the dog sleds back. It was quite cold the night we were there, but walked in the dark out to the area. They had a large fire with a tee-pee like enclosure to hold in the heat and block the wind. They handed out small kebobs to start, followed by lamb stew. The food was not that tasty or plentiful. They gave us some hot wine "punch" to start, followed by red wine. We were promised water and coffee, but got neither. The cook and a guide were telling jokes and stories, but everyone but us and an Italian couple were Argentinian, so we missed a lot of it due to language and insider knowledge. The ride back on the sleds was fun. Didn't get to play with pups as promised. I would do this tour during the day vs. at night so you can see the dogs better and cut out the lame after dinner stuff.

It would be great to go in winter and perhaps get on a dog sled. Beautiful dogs with a wolf ancestor (recent). Some scenic views. Nice lodge with very good food. Rustic.

Great 3 hour day hike up to Esmerelda (Emerald) Lake- crowded on Saturday, but still worth it. I'd recommend paying the 50 pesos to get in through the Valle de Lobos entrance- the staff are very friendly, and the services are worth it! Also, their story about how they breed sled dogs is worth the minimal price alone. The staff were willing to drive us back to Ushuaia if our cab driver didn't show up (he did). Thanks for a great day at the 'Fin del Mundo'!

We expected more for the rides. The dogsled and car rides were funny but pretty short. It's a bit expensive but it's worth it if you want to experience the snow at night. The walk with the rackets was short too because it was snowing a lot and the snow level was very high in some areas. The dinner, on the other hand, was amazing! We had the barbecued lamb and it was delicious!! Definitelly the best was to end the night!
