Great experience . Nice and kind staff :-) interesting explanation about Patagonian ancestors . Delicious lunch and sharing with other visitors in a cave . All this with the lake Argentino right in front of you. Highly recommended .

We popped in to visit on a whim; I felt at 800 pesos per adult it was a bit steep. They give you a headset with a narrative but you tend to walk a bit faster than the information which throws you out a bit! The rock art is quite faded but parts of it are interesting- particularly the hand ‘negatives’ or outlines. Overall not bad and 45 minutes is enough. Fantastic views over lake Argentino.…

We visited Walichu caves as part of a tour called Native Experience. It set off from El Califate. The drive was short and bumpy. But the driver was very careful and drove slowly to minimise discomfort. We were driven through the steppes and the guide made it very interesting ( in an uninteresting landscape). He talked about various shrubs that grew there. The llama bush was spectacular. Then they parked in a ‘balcony’ for a breathtaking view of the Argentinian lake. We were then taken to the caves. A 500 m walk along the lake shores. Lots of interesting facts about Walichu tribe was given. The cave paintings were not much. But the fact that they were prehistoric made it exciting. Then we were served an excellent meal in another cave It was the experience and information that you pay for. Don’t expect spectacular paintings- they were few and faint. I would not recommend going here, there is not much to see and the art is not real, they sell you this package as it is a nice trip but I was there and find nothing atractive, fortunatelly got the chance to see what this was all about without paying any fee since I had a rented vehicle and once we got there noticed it was not what they promote on the excursion. Caves a very poor and not really what we call here in America Caves.…
