We arrived in El Calafate in mid afternoon before a visit to Perito Moreno Glacier the following day. We had enough time to find the shuttle bus ( no charge) for the short trip to this very interesting museum. Make sure you see the two ten minute movies they are great. Wasnt sure about this one but a very competent exhibition about glaciers in the El Calafate, region, Argentina and the rest of the world. A must for kids, geology students and peole who want to know more about our planet. Takes about 1-2 hours to see it all, courtesy bus from town evey hour, 6 miles outside. …

The museum is interesting and gave us plenty of information about glaciers. The documentary was cool but a little strange. Would recommend if you have a spare few hours in El Calafate but it is not a must. However if you do go out be aware there is a free shuttle out and back from town!…

I visited the Glaciarium from the town with the free buss which runs every hour (not indicated very good where, but not hard to find in town if you ask (it starts near the tourist info booth). It was a nice museum, not that fancy but with many films and explanations about the area and the Glaciers. It added in knowledge and the English tour (around 30 minutes) was nice. Focus in both films is about the bridge forming Perito Moreno which is a pitty as one of the movies should be changed. Pricy, but fun to do in a few lost hours.…
