This is a very modern museum. It explains how the glaciars are formed, and "working", i.e. why their ice is blue, etc. It also shows the history of the discoveries of the area, with pictures of explorers and exhibiitons. Lots of videos, also in English.

Got the local bus out to this Museum - an easy way without involving a tour. A wonderful history of Glaciers one of the few glacier museums in the world. The architecture of the museum is quite unique and the facade of the building is very interesting. The exhibits include models, dioramas, a 3d documentary and other modern resources

This unusually shaped building includes many exhibits explaining many aspects of the glaciers with great photos and excellent signage in both Spanish and English. There is a free shuttle from town that leaves at the top of every hour from the tourism office. There are several videos that are on a continuous loop alternating between Spanish and English. These videos... More

The glaciarium is a museum. It provides good information on glaciers. There are also two short movies that you can watch.

The arrogance of the girl at the reception should have been enough indication of what was this all about. But we didn't turn back, first mistake. To pay the outrageous $300 ( US$19) to be shown some silly interactive toys and videos of the glaciers that are easily available in YouTube was our second mistake. This "glaciarium " is one... More

The museum exceeded our expectations. Interactive activities, history and everything the visitor needs to know about glaciers. Very informative and well set out. Congratulations to the designers. Best display of this type I have seen.

I just visited with a group of students. It was my second time in two years. A disappointment. For the outrageous high price, the "ice museum" does not provide much more than what you could find if you were to spend under an hour reading and watching after a couple of Google searches. The interactive installations are dated; the video... More

I enjoyed visiting this museum. It offers a lot of interesting info on the glaciers. You can either go before or after visiting the glaciers. They also show you a lovely movie. This place is a must for tourists visiting the area. Not only does it explain all about the glaciers it also mentions the importance of various historical figures and points out border conflict issues between the Chileans and Argentines. It is somewhat remote from the town but free buses leave every hour in the morning and every half hour in... More
