Fuimos por la mañana para poder caminar por el pueblo. Creo que no vale la pena al menos que realmente tengan gran interés en la gastronomía galesa. We went in the morning so as to walk around. I think it is not worth it unless you are a fan of tea.

If you're driving through, take a few minutes and look at some old historical buildings that are identified by small plaques. But, do not go out of your way to visit the town of Gaiman and expect a Sturbridge Village or historically correct village from another era. While it is interesting to learn about how the Welsh community came to... More

We visited here on a Sunday afternoon, it is a small town with a nice community feel to it. There are a lot of people out and about. Not much is open on Sunday. In our perception the link to Wales is particularily evident. If you are a princess Di fan, she had a cup of tea here in 1995.

There are places that charge to take a tour of this town; don't fall for it. We had a rental car and thought to drop by as poor weather prevented us from going other places; even by those standards we were disappointed. There was not one decent looking place to eat and the whole town looks and feels incredibly run... More

The town Gaiman for me is not really reflecting much about Wales and real Welsh customs. I have been at least 30+ times in Wales over the past 40 years. The Welsh flag alone is not sufficient!! There is really not much to see in Gaiman.

the whole town is like a museum. Being greeted by a passerby with "Croeso i Gaiman" was pretty memorable, as was being told "rydw i'n hoffi gwrw" (I like beer) by an Argentine lad working at the informaiton office. Lovely to see the language/yr hen iaith surviving out here, and it was fun to visit schools and cultural centers and... More

Visited Gaiman some time ago with a group from Wales, all Welsh speakers, and felt at home from the first moment. The town is situated on the Camwy river, and is full of friendly inhabitants. Incredible feeling hearing the Welsh language spoken by the locals, and us 7,000 miles + from Wales. Many of the population are descendants of Welsh... More

A quiet little Welsh community. Not much to do especially if you are there before 1pm. Everything is closed. Because we were on a cruise ship and had to return to dock, we were not able to wait until the Tea Room opened. We did stop by a Cheese shop whish was outstanding, they had cheese, meats and fresh baguettes... More

On the surface this may feel like a dusty, sleepy small town and being Welsh and knowing the history I was expecting some more obvious signs of all things Welsh. But ask around and you'll be pointed in the right direction - some of the original houses, monuments, the Gorsedd stones, chapel, signs, Welsh school, museum of the Welsh settlers... More
