Beautiful facility with very nice, somewhat artsy, high tech exhibits explaining the wildlife and ecology of the area. Expensive entry fee for foreigners, but it supposedly helps support research. We happened to visit when there was a photo exhibit by Dario Podesta, a local biologist and photographer. Fantastic!

Ecocentro is a must to visit when in Puerto Madryn. It is a smaller oceanography museum that highlights the sea life in the surrounding areas. It boasts a massive skeleton of a whale and of other fishes, and it combines art, species, media and nicely thought of flow. It also allows for viewing from its lighthouse tower. It also has... I would have given this 5 stars had the cafe been open. Limited opening times and does vary depending on whether cruise ships are in so worth checking. It can be reached on foot from the terminal (about 5km) along a good pretty flat road. The centre costs £9 approx to get in and offers a great insight into ocean... More

Walked here from the city center. Overall a rather small museum but chic. Guide was nice. Not with the price.

Went to this museum with my two young boys, aged 4 and 6. The museum is fairly new and has a beautiful view of the ocean. The museum is quite small but has a wonderful whale exhibit. You enter a darkish room and are made to feel as if you are in the ocean. You see whales swim by and... More

Nice, modern museum a ways out of town and a bit pricey for the few exhibits (Arg peso 190). Lots of information boards, many with English translations. Two good areas are the baleen curtains and the whale song room. We walked there along the coast and as it was raining and about 5 kms we got a taxi back (90... More

Excellent high speed WiFi! Not sure about this place, said it was closed on mondays and Tuesday but was open despite this. We didn't stay long.

It's not disappointing, just that we saw several other much better places. We really liked the sheep ranch and punta loma.

The building has a very special location right in front of the sea. You can learn about the wildlife in the patagonian sea with pictures, videos and simulations. You can touch fake whale "beard" and actually see the whales just outside the museum backyard. Museum is not big, but worth the visit.
