Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Gorgeous by night and beautiful by day! It is located in a pretty plaza. The colors that illuminate the statue change nightly.

Guemes was a major figure in the war for Argentine independence, in particular with organizing gauchos in the resistance to Spanish rule. The setting of the statue has a wow factor. In the eastern part of the city, you pass some very nice houses on Paseo Guemes. Set up on a hill for maximum effect is the general on his horse. Photographs are probably better somewhat from a distance to get in the entire setting.

In a wood like setting this grand statue is impressive. Its lit up at night, we passed it on our way to the centre and found there were usually people sitting around the area.

This is the monument of the hero of Salta. Since I was on a Spanish tour and I could't understand the story on the tour. But I googled it when I came back and I admire him!

Pretty cool monument within walking distance of the museo de Antropología. It had been raining so it was hard to find a dry place to sit and they are doing some construction but still a nice place to sit and enjoy the park

The statue is mounted atop a very large rock structure and is quite imposing and impressive, but I couldn't help but feel that the area around this monument did not do justice to this important hero. The area is bare earth mostly and would be better place to cope with pedestrian traffic as rain the night before made it a muddy slippery area to fully walk around and appreciate this area.

But if not on a tour it's not far from downtown and is at the base of Cerro dr San Bernardino.

A huge and impressive monument. Not too sure of its significance but the sheer size and detail of this piece were very impressive. Situated within a park with lots of space to relax, you can also start the trail to Cerro San Bernado

Martin Miguel de Guemes was an important hero in the battle of Independence from the Spanish. Also he served as governor of Salta.

Behind this statue & park you will find the steps to the right of the Museo Antropologica to the top of the Cerro San Bernardo... the top of the Teleferica (cable car) with stunning views of Salta & her surrounding montanas.

It is hugh. It does require a local to get a complete explanation of its significance but the views are spectacular and the site is worth a visit.

Another must if on a city tour. Located at the foot of San Bernardo Hill and also in the midst of one of Salta's more beautiful neighbourhoods. If you are feeling energetic you can climb all the way to the top of San Bernardo by the stair way of the 14 praying stations.
