Impressive architecture in a beautiful cultural center

An impressive building right in the middle of the city. The building holds various expositions and activities. Worth a visit and it's for free.

An impressive staircase and imposing rooms with free entry to the 2nd floor where music classes appear to be conducted in the former ballroom. Worth a quick look.

We visited here briefly after going to MAAM (which is a must-see). It took us about 30 minutes to walk round. Beautiful architecture in the building with the sweeping staircase in the middle. One enjoyable and unexpected extra was a collection of modern drawings and paintings by local artists. Probably wouldn't recommend a detour to come here but if you're... More

Its a worthwhile visit. Just meters away from MAAM and the Cathedral, this old Townhouse tells the story of the region. Well conserved

The museum is free to enter and is set in a fabulous building in the main square in Salta. The exhibitions change frequently, so we saw some impressive photography, a beautiful collection of nativities, and a video on the train to the clouds. The children enjoyed walking around in relative safety (nothing to touch or break!) We spent a quick... More

I had a disappointing experience at the Centro Cultural America -- I had expected a bit more. However, the current exhibition is only temporary and also free. Since the museum is located directly on the main square, it is worth sticking your head around the door -- if only to see the gorgeous 1930s building!
