There are several museums in Salta that really arent museums but houses donated to the community or once lived in by local colourful characters: very limited content of a completely arbitrary nature of very limited interest

We visit most of the museums of salta, and this house is quite well restored and show furniture, paintings of the people of salta at the 19 century. entrance is just 20 pesos

Interesting collections tracing three periods of Salta's history. The indigenous peoples, the Spanish period and the fight for independence are housed in a historical building, displayed well. No English translations except for a short film in the first room, but the exhibits speak for themselves.

The museum is housed in a nice building. There are a lot of artefacts however very few English signs, so I don't feel that I got as much out of it as I could have. If you have time to spare, it's a fine place...More

Very rude security here, chastised us heavily for taking some photos. There is not much to see here anyway. Judging by previous photos showing pot plants and gardens, it seems they have let the place run down. Perhaps that is why they don’t want you...More
