If you like landscapes and adventure, and even more if you love to drive, it is an excellent place to go to visit and enjoy beautiful views of the valleys and everything that surrounds you. The key is to go on a sunny and clear day, otherwise ... the adventure will be greater, but the landscapes will not be seen... More

To cross the road of the bishop's slope is like climbing to the sky by a road of varied curves and contracurvas full of colors. Starting from the foot of the Montana Forest until arriving at the 3400 MSNM where the cardones live. While you travel at the expense of the bishop can cross groups of guanacos, vicuñas and most... You don´t need a 4wd vehicle to visit it´s whole length. Although, there´re some dirt parts on the way. It´s a zig zagging road uphill with lots of curves which might make you sick. Try not to eat heavily before visiting. The view is overwhelming and if you´re lucky you might be able to see condors.

The path to arrive there is nice, the bus goes up in the mountains and you can see the landscapes down while you go up.

The road as we know it today was built between 1928-1931, but it had been in use long before that era as it was first used in 1622 by the highest officer in the Catholic church who was based in Salta. The Cuesta del Obispo starts at Piede la Cuesta, has fine views and finishes at Piedra del Molino at... More

Absolutely brilliant experience up this road to 4200 metres and to the Salinas Grandes with trucks crossing the expanse of high altitude salt flats over to Chile and across to Bolivia. What an experience! We went in a 4x4 with Poncho Private Day Tours in Salta - amazing!

We took a van tour up here. It was nice to just site back and gaze, rather than driving myself. Spectacular. Very high altitude. If you do drive yourself, be careful of that. The pro drivers, and tour guides chew coca leaves all the time, for the altitude. They shared them with us, and I felt better than I normally... More

Great landscapes! The road itself is an astonishing show as it winds up along the steep mountains. We had rented a car with a driver, which is worthwhile because being with a local guy gives you the chance to explore more. Our driver stopped from time to time, showing us features that we would have missed if on our own.... More

Went to Cachi from Salta few weeks ago. The journey took us through la Cuesta del Obispo a narrow road through the Andes. The ever changing colors and views are "Incredible". Definitely a must see if traveling to Salta
