Most of the Pucara townsite has been uncovered and restored and walking around can be done easily and without hassle. The interpretive signs throughout provide good information (in Spanish and English), but the more modern monument to two archeologists is a bit garish and out...More

The site is very nice and interesting. It has been very well reconstructed. But it is awful to see a modern monument dedicated not to the old people who lived there, but to modern people who helped in the reconstruction. Very bad taste really. I´ve...More

We enquired in the local tourist office about visiting this attraction and we were advised that it is now closed together with the small adjacent cactus garden. I was unable to ascertain whether or not the closure was permanent.

The walk from town is not so far and this was a nice place to wander around exploring the old ruins. Just make sure that you have your sunscreen on, when the suns out :) Visited October 2015

Tilcara is a great little town with own simple identity. Adobe dwellings, Andean people, beautiful setting. You must visit.

For me, it was the first time seeing these huge cacti in such an astonishing number. You'll walk between them and the old ruins, to the top of the hill where an amazing 360 view probably will make you wanna sit down. Very easy hike...More

Very interesting site. Takes 40-60 minutes. 20min walk from the town center. Entry fee is AR$50 p.P. and with the Ticket you get free Entry into the Museum, that's located at the town square. You can explore it on your own or wait for a...More

This was one of the more interesting pucaras I've visiting, including Quilmes near Cafayate and Quitor near San Pedro de Atacama. There are two different walking routes that you can take, although you should definitely take the longer one. The ticket office will give you...More

Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to spend here. Ideally I would have liked to do a guided tour and learn more about the place and its former inhabitants. Also there is a nice botanical garden we didn't get to see. The place is well...More

Hola. No pude ir a la garganta del diablo. Pero si paras en Tilcara, estás a unos minutos del Pucara, por lo que sí decides visitarlo por la mañana en dos horas máximo lo recorres, y puedes disponer del resto del día para... More
