Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The plaza independencia is a nice place to go with its waterfall. I was there on day of independance and the water was blue. There is a nice market on Satutday and Sunday evenings where I bought home made steak knives, bags and pottery for good prices

The largest of the five central plazas in Mendoza. Visited on a late Sunday afternoon when it was packed with all sorts going on. 38degree heat and everyone is chilled enjoying the ambience, the waterfall, the stalls and the show being put on to an appreciative crowd. If you’re going to visit or just happen by another of the other four smaller plazas in central Mendoza, make sure you visit this one. It’s the largest of them all, situated in the middle of the other four and a five minute walk from each.

A big park where events are held, locals hang out, a good area for an evening stroll. A good place to buy local artisan crafts very inexpensively. I literally purchased silver rings for a dollar here. Planning to bring little trinkets home, this is the place to get a few or a bunch.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Park Hyatt Mendoza and when we passed through Plaza Independencia and twice we walked around the square, watched the dancing water fountain show, visited the bandstand, its gardens, the Museo Municipal de Arte Moderno and the Teatro Municipal Julio Quintanilla which are located in the basement of the square.
This beautiful square began after the earthquake that destroyed the city in the 1861 reurbanization, and was remodeled several times as the city's main and largest square. The last and most important that maintains the current structure is from 1968 with the inauguration of the part located underground.
One of its attractions is the marble and metal frieze at the bottom of the dancing fountain. It has the motto "La Libertad, esa anĂłnima" and was opened in 1995. Another attraction is the neon sign with the City Shield, very interesting at night. We also took lots of photographs of the I love Mendoza sculpture.
Along with students, tourists, locals who always pass by the place make this square even more charming and worth visiting.

Plaza Independencia is very spacious, well preserved, with a cleanliness and order that attracts attention. Always with many tourists watching its fountain and drinking their matecitos of clear sunsets. Mendoza is very nice, clean and safe.

The square seems to be a vital gathering points for the locals, young, old and familes gather in the end of the day to eat from the food trucks, watch music concerts and live performances and eat from the various food trucks. A place to sit on the grass, have a sandwich and wine and listen to good music. It´s not so much a touristic place, except for the fountains and the symbol of the city. If you´re looking for a special touristic attraction you´ll be disappointed.

Plazas Spain, Chile, Italy, San Martin and Independence Square
These squares form a square, with a square at each end and Independence Square in the middle. The middle one is the largest, where there are tents at night and on weekends. All are beautiful. The city sign is in the central square. But the most beautiful is Plaza España. Even the floor is decorated with coats of arms. A 4.5km walk takes you through all the squares, a must-see for anyone in Mendoza

an indifferent square outside the Hyatt draws a different crowd depending on activities. Its Ok but needs a serious make up after which it could be quite nice indeed. But band-aid updates are not cutting it

Beautiful central square of the city, on one side begins the pedestrian street of the center, where you will find various shops.
The square is well maintained and has nice water fountains.
The bad thing is that they put on a fair with very loud music, which disturbs the peace of the place.

We stayed near the park for 6 weeks and walked through it everyday. It has two lovely fountains, lots of open space and benches and many big trees to provide shade. There is a nightly light and music show on the big fountain. The smaller fountain is very cooling on a hot day as you walk by. There are craft booths set up most days and there is a lovely children's area with play equipment, painting easels and nightly shows. This is truly a gem for Mendoza
