Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Buenos días!!! Muchas gracias por el comentario. El Museo Naval de la Nación es uno de los más antiguos de Argentina. Este año cumplimos 128 años de su creación. Gracias nuevamente, saludos desde el Museo de todo el personal.

I loved this museum and bone yard. Great ships, great busts, great dioramas. One of us learned how to tie a knot. A lot of artifacts, lots to see and learn. All the bells were tempting, but we successfully resisted. Definitely visit while in Tigre!

A visit to this museum is a great value for just 10 pesos. It is full of handsome, beautifully constructed models of navy ships from historic galleons to modern war ships. It also has memorabilia, including things from the first AR exploration of Antarctica, and more modern guns. My husband, a retired US Naval officer, enjoyed the museum even though neither of us could read the signs. I should think kids would enjoy the models and climbing a ladder to see inside the actual sailing ship an intrepid Argentenian used to circumnavigate the globe.

If you a naval buff, like ship models or just boats in general, this place is for you. For a mere 3 pesos (75 cents), we spent some 2 hours looking at all types of naval artifacts and without a doubt, the finest collection of boat and ship models to be found anywhere. There were 100's ranging from early Egyptian, Greek, Roman, etc., right up to those of the 20th century. The detail was incredible. We thoroughly enjoyed this muesum! We went on to the Fine Arts Muesum but it was closed for vacation until Feb. 26th. If it's anything like the outside, don't miss this one either.

Argentina's National Naval Museum is a relatively short train ride from Buenos Aires in Tigre. Most people would go to Tigre for a delta cruise, but the Naval Museum is worth a detour. Packed with history, models and relics from battles and wars it is not to be missed.

This small musuem on the riverside walk has great model boats, amazing planes, lots of interesting machines, (dont miss the mechanical tide calculator) and lots of history. The captions are , of course, in spanish, but a small translating dictionary or beginner level spanish will see you through ok. Surprisingly excellent.

Great ship models! Well-kept. No heating in winter. Lots of naval history to learn for all ages. Really worth going.

Aside from visiting the Tigre delta, this is the other must-do activity in Tigre. The fascinating museum covers the history of the navy from its founding right through the Malvinas war through photos, models and artefacts.

Displays are only in Spanish but there's plenty to please you visually, regardless of your ability.

Fantastic value at 20 pesos I spent a very happy hour and a half in here (might have been a bit less if it hadn't taken my weak Spanish so long to decipher the information signs).
The physical layout is a bit confusing but it covers the whole of South America's naval history, from pirates to trade ships, to luxury liners, to warships (including a model of the Belgrano, of particular relevance to a Brit. And even my Spanish worked out that the sign was telling me the Belgrano was sailing away from the exclusion zone when it was sunk).
There are some wonderful models - especially of cabins on the liners - and lots of paintings and memorabilia.
Outside there's an impressive array of naval weaponry, and part of the bridge from another ship damaged in the war of the southa atlantic
Well worth a visit
