Highly recommended museum. We spend a few hours here and the time just flew by. There are a lot of skeletons both from animals you can find today, but also plenty of impressive prehistoric animals. A nice collection of rocks and pre-Columbian artifacts tops it of. We went here with our 9 year old son and he LOVED it. There... More

This museum was created from the collection of Ameghino, a naturalist from the 19th century, and is now home of the school of natural science of the University of La Plata. Among its many jewels stand a unique collection of gliptodontes, original from this region of the world. Within a beautiful city park, one arrives to the museum by a... More

I've visited this place countless times, since I was a child, I've seen it change, go through rough and good times alike, always trying to attend the newest exhibition. It's always been my favorite museum in Argentina. I always particularly enjoyed the dinosaur's exposition, where there are several reconstructions of different species, mostly made out of real recovered bones. The... More

This is the second time we went here.First trip was 13 years ago. This time I had a camera so people would believe 10 foot armadillos existed(see photos). This is an anthropology museum with a dinosaur skeleton donated by Andrew Carnegie about 80 feet long, plus many examples of other prehistoric animals and insects.A giant spider(about 24" long with the legs and 8"... I went in May so the place was freezing cold. The collection is huge but it is not well maintained or it seems like it. There are many thing to see but it is organized in a kind of chaotic way so one loses interest pretty quickly and get lost in the huge amount of stuff. Besides the cold, the... More

This museum was founded almost at the same time of the city. It is an artifact of liberal elites to create the image of a white and European country.

I was here two days ago. Ir's a nice place to spend a day out with your family. There's a cycling lane and a running one that go all around it. The view of three and the ponds make it a great place to relax and meditate if you like. There's also a sort of petting zoo where you can... More
