Top ways to experience Microcentro
The area
Neighbourhood: San Nicolás
Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours. After dark, the hubbub and migrates to Corrientes Ave., where theatre lovers might start their evening at a play and end it in one of the many traditional pizzerias nearby. During the day, Corrientes is known for its many bookshops and classic cafés, which are located just minutes away from some famous landmarks, like the Obelisco, Avenida 9 de Julio, and the Teatro Colon.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

So much to see and do in this part of the amazing city of BA! We spent half a day just wandering around here, no real agenda, we just wanted to see where each street would take us. The architecture is stunning, and there was so much to see and just appreciate. Easily 1 of my most favourite cities in the world.

It is an informal area that includes several nice spots, from Plaza de Mayo to the "City", the financial district, and includes part of Calle Corrientes and Reconquista, that offer interest buildings and several bars and restaurants.

The central area is a nice place especially for observing the architectural style. The centre is also clean, thinking that it is a capital.

The center of Buenos Aires is an unmissable place for tourists. Despite the crisis that is ravaging the country, the city center is safe, clean and organized. It has many attractions, many historic buildings, shops, restaurants, bars. It's worth walking along Av. 9 de Julio, seeing the Obelisk, walking along Av. de Mayo from the Casa Rosada to the Congress. Only the prices are not so good, leave it for shopping for gifts at Caminito.

this is a crazy part of the city. Tons of offices, thousands of workers and much more people. On weekends it almost empty, ghostly empty.

An amazing and busy part of BA. Easily accessible by Metro and Bus. El Centro has a wonderful cathedral and lots of museums near by. The Cafe Tortoni in just off the square and is a must see. There is also the interesting presence of veterans of the Maldives War.

The Microcenter isn't all that micro so don't get the name but it's where it all seems to come together. Bustling and vibrant it represents me the best of Buenos Aires.

Glad to be here with you! Rigt here at Buenos Aires there´s many exciting sites, one of them is the Microcentro (that unites economic center & theaters centers).
This site has a very wide offers to entertain you: cinemas, theaters (specially recomended the Gran Rex, Luna Park and Opera Citi, these are great places to see music and artistic shows from our country and international ones).
Tickets are available with anticipation so you can buy it via web (ticketek.com.ar, ticketportal.com.ar) and make a reservation before or during your visit. You can pay it by the web.
Libraries are everywhere; both new and used books are very affordable. They´re open all the days of the week.
On August you must see the Buenos Aires Tango Festival, also includes the world cup of Tango dancers. It´s a wonderful and free spectacle, and you can also take free Tango dance lessons (with reservations)
It´s good to arrive it by public transportation (Subway A, B or C, Metrobus, and many bus lines), the cheapest options specially at working times. There´s a safe place to stay, but anyway take care of your personal stuff, like cell phones or cameras. There´s a shopping street at Microcentro named Florida, you can take advantage to savings and promotions. Enjoy!

Sort of like walking in downtown New York City with suits everywhere scurrying around to and from work. But it also is site of some interesting museums, the Florida walking/shopping street, the Casa Rosada, Plaza de Mayo and much more. A great way to start our 5 days in Buenos Aires
