Buenos Aires is split into several areas - barrios - and Palermo is to the North adjacent to Recoleta. It is a quite well to do area and there are different streets, buildings, parks and attractions. We found it quite safe and worth a look.

Quite a good vibe about this neighbourhood. Easy to walk around and explore, easily accessible by the fantastic subway system. Plenty of great restaurants and cafes. Interesting architecture, quite a mix of styles. One of the more upmarket neighbourhoods of BA, an interesting place to stop and do some "people watching".

We spent two days exploring Palermo. Lots of fun people watching and trendy restaurants, bars and shops. Fun to visit but I wouldn't say it is a "must do" unless you are staying in the area.

We stayed in a hotel on Guatemala street. Loved the accessibility to public transportation and the walkability of the neighborhood. Lots of shops, restaurants, bars, and overall quirkiness.

I liked Palermo. You can walk around. It has some great restaurants and it's not a busy area. Low buildings, squares, cool small shops, bars and cafees. It's posh but nice, and it feels like a safe hood.

Palermo has the most beautiful park and rose garden you've ever seen in a large city! A wonderful green space.

My son lived her for two years when we was at the nearby U.S, Embassy. A very swank neighborhood that sports my favorite steak House, Rio Alto. Plenty to do, very safe. The kind of place where you can walk to everything. Almost no tourists so that's even better. See how Argentines live and play.w

Palermo is the creative and fancy part of Buenos Aires with an abundance of cafés, bars, restaurants and all sorts of shops. It is the perfect surrounding for a stroll in Buenos Aires to enjoy (window) shopping and a little treat. This is also an interesting place for lovers of street art, since it's all colorful and creatively designed.

Palermo Hollywood was where our hotel was, so we tried many of the restaurants in the area. It a great destination for food lovers. You dont need to have a plan. Great food is everywhere and the neighnborhood felt safe day and night.

Staying in Palermo

Neighbourhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favourite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
