Neighbourhood: Recoleta
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.

We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I rather liked this mall. It had style, plus lots of stylish people, plus lots of elegant little eating places where I could get a decent cup of coffee, a good if not hearty sandwich and some beautiful chocolate something for apres, and study my guidebooks and maps away from prying eyes. Good people watching too.

This is not the place for children or fine shopping. On a typical weekday, you will rub shoulders, literally, with the common folk, the busy delivery truck employees, the street vendors, and wholesale buyers from the interior of the country. The narrow streets are packed, the sidewalks have seen better days, and whatever is cheap, is precisely that. I strongly recommend to watch out (don't carry a purse, jewellery, camera or phone), go in a group if you're keen on seeing this neighbourhood, and don't go come nightfall.
The street blocks are thematically grouped: sewing, material, party, packaging, toys, upholstery, beading, etc. which makes this neighbourhood so distinctive from others.
Pickpocket and purse snatcher haven.

Does anyone know if the stores are open on Saturday 12/09? I need to buy a backpack for school... or is it open on Friday 12/08 in the afternoon?

Good for buying souvenirs and football shirts. It would be March 25th for the brothers. The value is actually more affordable. The same t-shirt in Florida or Lavalle was almost twice as high

I needed cold weather clothing since I didn't bring appropriate clothing for the trip, and this was a great way to find what I needed. There was a lot of variety, it is within the city, at least it was close to a meter and the prices were cheaper than what I saw in tourist sites, for example a scarf that I saw from 13,000 to 19,000 in tourist sites there cost me 9,000

This area is located in the center of Buenos Aires, with multiple businesses of all types with generally very affordable wholesale prices. Stores usually close quite early with some exceptions and it is recommended to be careful in case of theft.

The Jewish quarter Once is very lively, especially the large synagogues are worth seeing, and then many shops, restaurants
