A walk through La Boca is not complete with out a stop by Proa to see one of many world-class exhibitions on display. The space is not large and a trip can be relatively quick. Go in the later morning and make sure to visit the restaurant for lunch after (go early to avoid the lunch rush, and on a... More

Located just a few steps from Caminito and the Boca Juniors stadium this beautifully designed exhibition center merits a visit. It is not a museum. World class exhibitions are offered.

I've seen wonderful exhibitions here over the years, including photos by Sebastian Salgado and Ron Mueck's hyperrealistic sculptures. The view from the cafeteria is wonderful.

Its building and views are very nice. Exhibitions vary from great ones to not very good ones, BUT! Its restaurant may be The best part of it.

Very nice building, with a beautiful library and a cafeteria overviewing El Riachuelo. The Malevich exhibit is also quite impressive. A must, which can easily combined with a visit to the Quinquela Martin Museum and a stroll through El Caminito.

Staying in La Boca

Neighbourhood Profile
La Boca
A neighbourhood defined by its immigrant roots, La Boca still maintains this past alive in its streets today. Due to its proximity to the river, the neighbourhood became the preferred settling area for immigrants of a wide variety of origins, who ended up living together in the conventillos. Thus, these houses became a melting pot of different cultures and traditions that birthed creations like tango and lunfardo. Nowadays, this legacy can be seen and felt on Caminito Street, which welcomes visitors with colourful facades, cobblestones, and street artists showcasing their skills. Just like its neighbor San Telmo, La Boca is one of the prime destinations to experience the traditions and customs that originated from the city’s immigrant past and which have shaped its distinct identity.
