On the late evening of December 19, 2018, my wife and I (67 & 65 years old), were celebrating our visit to Buenos Aires at Catulo Tango restaurant.
I can tell that this was unforgettable experience! Even the the food and wine was absolutely delicious the the main exiting was the Tango show ranging from classic tango to modern tango.
Excellent performance of the dancers, a Impeccable live music, and singers!
The staff was nice and really kept our table organized and anything we asked was there in seconds. The atmosphere is beautiful.
We had amazing time and I am so glad to put this review so everybody who looking for a place to celebrate tango in Buenos Aires will find this place. By the way we have package which included tickets and round trip transportation for reasonable price.

We were only staying in BA a couple of nights and so had limited time to research and book a show. When I found that this one was an all inclusive cost for pick-up, dinner, drinks, show and drop-off I was happy. I think we paid 9000pesos pp which we thought very reasonable considering the service provided. Our Hotel Reception booked for us.

Pick up and drop off was hassle free and as we had no idea where to go and didn't want to end up in a dodgy location. Picked up on time and back to Hotel by 11:30.

Tables surround the stage so all have good views. We went as a couple and didn't share but the tables are close together so its easy to chat to others anyway. Wine is provided - nice quaffer and suited the occasion. No complaints on the food - given they were serving a couple of hundred people quickly and efficiently before the show there were adequate choices and we enjoyed what we had.

The Show was the star! Great singers, skilled dancers, great costumes were all fab and they told the story of Tango. No translation to English though so you get to interpret the show.

If there was a downside it was that no photos were allowed - although they did have a photographer who took your photo with costumed dancers before the show and these were reasonably priced to buy later.

Paying the bill could have been smoother. We were expecting to pay as we entered but $ wasn't taken until after the show! As everyone was paying at the same time this wasn't efficient. Considering the rest of the evening had been so streamlined this could be more organised.

We both thoroughly enjoyed the evening and if we visit BA again would be happy to repeat.

We were told about this place by an Argentinian friend as we were looking for a less touristy place and we had a very pleasant night. The show was simply excellent, a brilliant 5-member music band (one pianist, one cellist, two violinists, and two accordion players), two singers (the male singer was decent and the female was pretty good), and five extremely talented dance couples. Some reviewers have complained about the food but we found the dinner completely fine, and yes we have been to some of best parrillas and Italian restaurants in town. The dinner was not top notch, but keep in mind that you pay 700 pesos for the dinner, drinks (we had a pretty decent bottle of wine) and the show and you definitely get more than you pay for. Yes you can spend three times as much and go to a show with better food, but I don't think the food here is bad at all, it is in fact pretty good. I would definitely recommend this place to those who are looking for a memorable night of amazing tango with great music and pretty good food and does not want to spend big bucks for something slightly fancier and also more touristy.

We were really looking forward to seeing some Tango dancing on our recent trip. This place is a little out the way but included pickup and drop off. We were told pickup at 8pm and drop off at 11pm.
Sadly this was not the case and we ran out at midnight and caught a taxi back to the hotel. We found way too much spanish chatting by the senior singer, which of course I cant understand. I was hoping for lots of dancing and there was some but not as much as I was hoping for at maybe less than 25% of the night.
The food was just OK and we were a little packed in.

The food was of very poor quality, my steak was very tough and the desserts were tasteless. I have to say the stuff were very friendly and professional.
The show felt dated and boring, shame because the dancers and most of the singers were good. Feels like badly needs a make over. Most of the songs chosen were irrelevant and many classics are missed like caminito, melodía de arrabal, a media luz. The orquestar was very good but we all left the place disappointed.

The only way I would recommend people to go to this place is just to go to the show, and not pay for the meal.
The only delicious food from the whole menu was a cheese empanada. The rest was either luke warm or, in regards to the meat, very tough...not what you'd expect in beef city!
The dancers were a joy to watch, real talent there! And the band is pretty good, I wasn't a fan of the singers personally and the fact that we were ploughed with a bottle of cheap strong wine made me fall asleep twice during the show unfortunately.
At the end we were overcharged, an issue with our hotel which booked for us and the maitre d'h was very rude to me. Even if it was late and he wanted to go home (so did we!!) no reason for rudeness!
Sad end to a not so great night, as I said earlier, don't have the meal but go see the dancers!

Friends who are natives of Buenos Aires took us to Catulo. Included in the price of admission was a four course meal and wine. The entertainment was outstanding! Tango dancers, solo and duet singers and a band performed. All very professional and top quality. Added to this was the terrific exchange rate! Highly recommend Catulo if you are interested in a entertaining night out. It didn't disappoint!

Had a fun time. Show was excellent, dancers great, singers very good, band excellent. The main singer, a tango singer of some repute, did a kind of Vegas chat with the audience mid way through that was fun. Even though we could not understand much of what was said it was entertaining watching the reaction of other guests. We were only two of four English speakers in the place. If you go you will find out how I know that. I sense that the venue is more intimate than others in town. The food was fine, not great, but overall the evening is a very good value with the show, wine and food for a very reasonable price. This show is very different than the other tango show we saw (Tango Porteno).

Highly recommended.

Catulo Tango show offers great entertainment with incredible talented performers. The food wasn’t amazing but good value for money. The show, food and wine ( 2 bottles at least ) were all included in the price. I think it was about 700 Argentinian pesos for one person.
