We have never been to a polo match before and know very little about it but I have to say we had a wonderful time. Not knowing what to expect, we ordered cheap tickets just in case we left early. On the day of the match, a few tickets go on sale and we were lucky to get two. Of... More

This is the Superbowl of polo! Go to Argentina anytime and you will find polo like nowhere else. If you are in BA and love horses, revel in superior athleticism, and want to engulf yourself with locals - it is a MUST! Directly across from the Hippodrome racetrack, playoff matches typically run Thursday - Saturday, until the semi's and finale.... More

Argentina has excellent polo players, most of whom play in England or USA: Once a year, for the >Argentine polo tournamnt, the country can have as many as 3 40 handicap plyers, who generally win it all, Well worth a visit during the polo season.

I have never been to a polo match before but now I recommend everyone: GO!!! It's so much fun and the Stadium is pretty laid back and casual in Buenos Aires. Fun!!! Be careful when you book the Tickets because only even or uneven numbers are next to each other (160 and 161 NOT).

If you are in Buenos Aires in November or December look for a ticket for Abierto Argentino de Polo where the best polo players with their best polo horses are playing to get this trophy. No one place to see polo like this.

Great value.Tickets start at $9 (AR$130) for initial matches and for the final start at $23 (AR$340) up tp AR$7700 (US$515). I paid for the whole season (8 matches) for less than US$50. Budget tickets are not numbered and... More

Staying in Palermo

Neighbourhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favourite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
