This is a really interesting tour. Carolina knows so many facts about the city - that is amazing. Totally recommended! I had a great time. Buena Onda!

My wifey and I visited Buenos Aires before our Antarctica trip and with a few days in the city before flying down to Ushuaia, we decided to go with Buena Onda for a walking tour. Carolina was a great guide, very enthusiastic and entertaining. It was also good that we had a relatively small group (around 6 people) as we... More

Carolina was a great guide! She told us about the local history in a way that was informative, but entertaining. The tour was well-paced and a great way to know the city from a local's perspective.

Run into Carolina outside of the Nuestra Señora del Pilar Church, asked her about the tour and an amazing surprise. She is super knowledgeable, nice and super cool. This is a must do tour in Buenos Aires. Gracias Carolina!

We turned up for the Sunday tour just outside the Pilar Church beside Recoleta cemetery. Despite the fact that there were only two of us Gabriel went ahead with the tour and brought us on a fantastic personalized trip around the Recoleta and the impressive mansions on Alvear Avenue. I can't recommend the tour enough. Gabriel was professional yet friendly... More

On an extremely hot Friday afternoon in January a group of us joined Buena Onda Free Tours for a walking tour of Recoleta Cemetery and the surrounding area. The group was arranged through our Cruise Critic Roll Call as we were all embarking on a cruise to Antarctica and South America the next day. Without a guide, Recoleta Cemetery would... More

My husband and I joined the Recoleta tour one Sunday and there were a total of four in the group. Our guide was very informative, friendly and good at answering questions. The tour was also at a very good pace. By comparison, we later went on Buenos Aires Free Tour's city tour on a different day and the group was... More

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
