We stopped here for some delicious pastry in the Jewish quarter. Were told this town has quite a history of Jewish people. It is charming, unspoiled, clean. There were quaint little shops with homemade items, along with many small cafes and pastelarias. The town square has a beautifully maintained park with fountains and pretty plants, and the cutest older people... More

Castelo de Vide is a lovely small Portuguese country town largely unspoiled by tourism. The centre square and surrounds have lots of cafes and restaurants.

Lovely and beautiful town indeed. Not much to do but weather was good and walking around was gorgeous enough. Such a quiet and calm town. quality time. Love it.

This is a very small town and it is a nice stop to get the feel of a small twon in Portugal where people are very relaxed.

Castelo de Vide is a small town of maybe 4000 people but very well kept, clean and taken care of. The city center has heaps of little cafes and restaurants with al fresco tables and chairs welcome to have a cold drink on a hot day. There is always a buzz of people walking and coming and going. The main... More

Not much to do or see but the ambience is worth soaking up. There are good eateries and bars. Luckily Portugal is on a reasonable time frame for opening hours unlike Spain so meals can be eaten from 7 onwards in the evening.

This is a beautiful little castle town like so many in Portugal. After the climb to the top of the hill and castle, it was a nice place to have a quick respite. Lots of trees and flowers make for a picturesque setting.

In the shade of the trees in the middle of the city. It is something you rarely see in other places, like Lisbon, for example.

The station was inaugurated in 1916. It contains 20 thousand tiles dating from 1905-1916. The tiles show historic Portugal with landscapes and historic events. The pictures depicted are very realistic and colorful. Well worth seeing.
