Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Worth a short visit! You can walk around the lake in 10 mins plus time you need to take photoes.
Check at what time lotus flower closes its buds! We came at 18:00 and they were «sleeping».

Bonus: You can find some cafees& bars nearby, souvenir shops, local clothes shops, sim-cards, mini markets and padi diving center. 👍🏻

One of the local attractions of Candidasa is the Lotus Lagoon.
And is one of the hidden free gems in Bali. This lotus pond is the size of a football field. The Lotus Pond gives a spectacular sight with its vast body of water filled with white and some pink lotus flowers.
And a small garden island in the middle.
Visit this place in the morning from 6 to 10 am. After 11 or 12 hours the flower buds are closed again.

Not well maintained. If cleaned regularly it wols be a very beautiful plave for photoshots. In the everning so many locals take a bath n wash their clothes by the end of this lagoon, next to the beach because the running water from the hill running below the lagoon to the beach is so clear n clean.

I gave 4 stars because the flowers were blooming. No flowers no real attraction. Still, it is an easy walk around the perimeter which with an amble stroll should take around 20 minutes. Glad I was here with many flowers showing their beauty each day.

Take full advantage of the tranquility of Candidasa, don't miss this magnificent walk.
Paved with tiare flowers, take the path along the pond, admire the blooming lotuses if you pass there in the morning, otherwise simply stroll in the shade of the trees along the water while looking at the hills.
At the end of the afternoon, families swim on the small adjoining beach. I advise you to do the same, then continue walking for hours on the beach at low tide...

As I really like lotus flowers, this was great to see. Went past in full bloom, it was stunning. Also viewed the lagoon as the flowers were about to bud and it was great to see so many plants about to flower.

This is not a big spot. You will see people but the pathway is big enough to share.

Locals swim and fish in a spot close to the ocean where the lagoon drains.

You can site and look at the ocean and islands or the lagoon at sun rise or sun set.

I was pleasantly surprised to run into this lagoon as I was walking around Candidasa. I was there in the morning so the flowers were still open (they close in the afternoon sun). There's a nice path all around the lagoon. It didn't seem like there was much to do in Candidasa, so if you're there, you might as well make the couple-minute detour.

If you think this lagoon with the huge water Lillie's and lotus plants looks amazing from beside it, take the time to walk up the steep steps in the temple opposite it and you will be stunned at its beauty.
A painter or photographers dream scene.
Remember to take and wear a sarong as this is a sacred temple. Also quite a few steep steps, so be ready.

It is just of the road, and if there are no flowers, you could walk by without thinking it is actually a special place. I am sure it is beautiful in full bloom, but were here in December, so not much really to see.
