About
While we could call ourselves 'mountain vineyards' we prefer to be known as 'garden vineyards'. In Spring specially chosen wildflowers flourish between our vines. We have no doubt that a biodiverse and ecologically sensitive environment produces infinitely better grapes and the beauty of our gardens is captured in every bottle of our wine. We pipe Baroque music through our vineyards 24x7 and believe that the power of music positively influences the ripening process. Enjoy an expert wine tasting on our veranda or enjoy a charcuterie platter for two, paired beautifully with the finest DeMorgenzon wines.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had very fond memories of De Morgenzon from 2 years ago. We were greeted brightly by a cheerful waiter with classical music 🎶. That was the reason for us to visit De Morgenzon again. Unfortunately, now in 2024 it was the absolute opposite. We arrived shortly before 4:00 p.m. (open until 5:00 p.m.) and, without the famous music, we were greeted curtly by a stressed and curt waitress with the following words: “A tasting is no longer possible, otherwise they would wash too many glasses must. We could still get a glass of wine, but nothing more.”
In addition, the freshly washed car was already sprayed on the driveway by the sprinkler system. So apart from a long journey and no recommendation for De Morgenzon, no reason was found to come back again.

This is one of the most beautiful wine estate that I have seen ever.
In The Stellenbosch kloof is it situated.
This was my first visit to this estate and the road to the house is very nice in between the vineyards. The old house is very beautiful the hospitality of Donna was perfect, she has a lot of knowledge of the wines. And the wines are very good especially the chenin, the best I ever drink.
This estate is one of a kind si beautiful.
I'll be back!!

Welcomed by the same person who served us back in March and to his credit, he instantly remembered us. We not only love the wines, the scenery, the good choice for tasting, where you get to choose the ones you want, which can be different for each of your group, but also the service and knowledge of the servers. They also do platters, but we didn’t try them. Definitely worth a visit.

Hands down! The best wine-tasting experience I've had to date. Our guide - Richard - was a perfect host, bringing to the experience not only a passion for wine, but also an excellent knowledge of this brand and his enigmatic personality. The wines are top notch - we left with as much of it as we could carry (and afford). Beautiful surroundings. Unique experience.

This wine-tasting is not one of those mass-market turn-stile processes that many of the other estates offer. It's real, classy and well-crafted experience.

I second every 5* review. We went to six tastings over two days and this was our favorite. We too were graced by Kudzai, whose wine knowledge was surpassed only by his charm and good humor. Lovely atmosphere. Steeped in history. They had a pretty good selection you can order through a US middleman at a very reasonable price. Unfortunately they can’t ship their sparking wine, which was so lovely it caused me to burst into tears.

Smaller than the other vineyards we visited, and less commercialised, this was the most pleasant wine tasting visit experience we had. Here, they play music to the vines to improve the wine that results.

Got the feeling that it was all done for the love of it.

The atmosphere was unhurried, not too slick, and the place was not too crowded. The wine was good too. Could have stayed much longer.
