Amazing plants and flowers! The bonsai trees were very impressive as well as the giant water lilies. The café was also nice, huge cakes and great coffee. Although a bit minus just because the plantation wasn't as well kept as I was hoping for. Perhaps a guide would be nice, I'll pay for that.

Even though I live in Stellenbosch I have only recently visites the Botanical Gardens - and I was so impressed! It is really interesting to see all the different plants they have but I was the most surprised by their amazing bonsai collection! WOW! It's a must see! (Also, they have some great "vet plante" for sale!)

We took a couple of hours to wander through the gardens, entry is free and it was relatively peaceful experience. Would recommend as it is very short walk from the centre of Stellenbosch.

This is a lovely garden. It so peaceful that one forgets it is in the middle of a town. We spent about an hour taking pictures and walking in the garden but could have stayed another hour or two. There are lots of benches or grass to sit and also a restaurant. We will definitely visit again and again.

A gem hidden in the centre of Stellenbosch. Great for quiet, romantic walks and finding even more peace and greenery in the centre of an already gorgeous town.

Free entry to the University Botanical gardens was a welcome distraction from the rest of the busy tour around the town. We had a 45 minute walk around the gardens. We enjoyed the Bonsai display and the magnificent lily ponds. Some interesting artwork is also visible around the gardens some calming and interesting others a bit more modern and thought... More

Just happened to come across this place while out exploring the town. What a great find! It was really nice to walk around and look at the large selection of plants and bonsai trees they had on display. It was free to look around you just have to put your name in a book.
