We climbed the dirt roads up through Paarl Mountain Nature Preserve to visit Pearl Rock and do some rock climbing. It was a week day, so we had the place to ourselves. The views are great and the rock is very accessible.

We were visiting Paarl and were looking for a place to have a picnic lunch. A friend had said we must visit Paarl Nature Reserve if we had a chance, so we drove along the road thinking we'd find a spot to have a rough...More

If you like a walk, you can park your car outside of the Reserve and walk towards the Rocks. You can get on top of two out of the three, and the views are stunning. The climbs on these granite rocks are a bit of...More

We did a spontanious hike while visiting Paarl. What a beautiful place. The walk up the rocks was relatively easy with really stunning views. Would definately recommend it.

Absolute must. The amount of Proteas and fynbos just complement the breathtaking views. And you simply have to clamber on to the Paarl Rock and look out over an absolutely amazing landscape below.

easy walk to the top if you stick to the recommended trails. Some rocks just appear to be polished. Amazing to find a canon on top to warn inhabitants if a ship was approaching Cape Town

I did 20km loop from the Taal Monument around to the communications masts on the north side and around on the west side above Fairview. Great views without huge climbs in very pleasant countryside. There is some signage but is difficult to read as it...More

What a gorgeous place to go and rewind after a long week of work and school, lovely to go for a walk in the bush or take a drive through the park.

A lovely walk right in the Paarl Mountain - flights of stairs and most beautiful sights! We had an awesome walk and workout in 1 session!

Visited Paarl specifically to see these monolithic granite rocks. A tricky drive up to the top car park below Bretagna but well worth the effort. Having got there the challenge is to get to the top, which for an old geezer like me is notable...More

Hello, we didn't stay in Paarl but I would be amazed if there was nowhere to hire bikes there. A bike hire place can be found in Franschoek on the main street (if you have a car with a bike rack).
