Oh they just melted my heart. You have to walk to whatever burrow the Meerkats decide to use that night, and carry a foldup chair. Once there you sit and wait until the Meerkats decide it is time to get up. Then they sun themselves and play a little. We were lucky enought to be able to watch them for... More

This was an amazing opportunity to see and learn about these amazing creatures. We were assured that we would see the meerkats, we had to wait longer (probably up to an hour) than expected before they appeared, but they did appear in abundance. We were also assured that if in the unlikely event that the meerkats did not appear, then... More

Early rise to leave by 05:45. Hot coffee on hand to warm us up. Very knowledgeable guides add to the experience. The sight of that first little head popping out of the burrow is priceless. What an awesome, personal experience. Always take something warm to wear.

You will have to wake up really early to experience the meerkats but it is certainly worth it. Meerkats you won't see in zoos so this is one of the few possibilities to actually see them. This was a special experience and it's worth the time and money to do.

Wonderful early morning activity watching these lovely creatures emerge from their burrows. Excellent guide who narrated the life history of these social family animals.

It was a very early start and we had to drive to Bufflegate Reserve. There was nobody around to show us where to meet. After a lot of driving back to the main gate, then back to the Lodge, we finally heard voices in a room upstairs. We met up with people who were staying at the Lodge ( we... More

It was definitely worth waking up before the sunrise for this. Devey's passion for the meerkats is unbelievable. An authentic and recommended experience for whoever is in the area.

The activity is interesting and fun: you get up very early to go in groups to a low scrub land where you're lined up behind the leading guide your folding chair. Once in front of the nest, you sit and wait for the first start appearing soon head stands on two legs and begins to scan the horizon regardless of... More

De Zoekee Guest farm organised this experience for us at a discounted price. It was awesome. we woke up at sunrise and waited for meerkat to get up. They are very cute and the guide told us a lot about their life, their habitat and the wildlife of this area.
