The Knysna lagoon is a beautiful tranquil lagoon in the Western Province in South Africa. Home to the Knysna sea horse. The lagoon not only boasts natural beauty. This area is perfect for the artist, the socialite just about anyone. This is a must see for any tourist local or international.

Spent a week at The Knysna Lagoon and made sure to take a walk at sunrise every single day around the lagoon. Nicely laid promenade. Friendly joggers and cyclists along the route. Felt safe with my kids. Lots of bird life to enjoy. Breathtaking views at sunrise and sunset. Thesan island is a gem.

Knysna Lagoon is beautiful all on its own, with people fishing, sailing, walking, having picnics and going up the heads to see amazing views of the ocean and land. It is dotted with restaurants, lookout points, forests, grassy picnic areas, trinket shops, quaint malls and B&Bs. It is one of the must see places on a trip down the Garden... More

This is a place for all water sports. Fishing is good . Surrounding forests are spectacular. Coastline is unspoilt . Many adventure attractions. Winters are a bit cold.

Take the boat trip around the lagoon to get the best views. It's a nice half day trip that is well worth the effort. Also, there is a viewing gallery at the Heads end of the lagoon which gives visitors some height - perfect for the holiday photos.

Knysna and especially the area around the lagoon has a somewhat European atmosphere. Beautiful shops and international restaurants make it a very attractive tourist shop. Also the start point for a boattrip on the lagoon. We loved the area and hope to come back some day.

We stayed in Knysna for the first time this year and were not disappointed, Even though we live by the sea and have sea lions we decided to take the Boat around the lagoon to the heads. We really enjoyed walking around the outside of the boat and seeing Knysna from a different perspective. We headed to the Head and... More
