Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A drive not to be missed if in the area. Green mountains with spectacular views, changing at every corner, blue sky one side and rain on the other - but picturesque nonetheless.

We took this route, as recommended by many websites and posts here on TA, from Knysna to Oudtshoorn and it was as stated by everyone. I'm actually a bit afraid of driving on high roads, and was a bit apprehensive, but once we were in the mountains, the road quality is excellent and the views are so gorgeous, you forget how high up you are :)

The drive is about an hour at a leisurely pace - we stopped a few times to take pictures, etc. The small towns you cross as soon as you leave Knysna are amazingly quaint, beautiful and scenic. George, especially, was like something out of a postcard.

The only way to do justice to this part of South Africa is to drive it, and to see the beautiful passes and the constantly changing scenery along these routes.

Totally deserted, nice footpaths, somerimes quite steep. Map is not too great, but I understand the whole thing is being managed by the botanical club. Cheers to them!

Just amazing, an outing on its own, beautiful, tranquil views, can spend the whole day driving on this pass, stop along the way, take awesome photos and have a little picknic, don't forget your camera, happy sightseeing, and great hiking paths in this pass aswell.

Outeniqua Pass connects George to Oudtshoorn. It gives opportunity to enjoy magnificent views of the valleys and mountains. There are several photo stops and invariably there are benches and tables for picnic stop if the weather is good. Not suitable for anyone who wants to race up the winding roads of the mountains. You need to take it easy to enjoy the Pass and to avoid accident on the slippery roads during winter.

Driving over the Outeniqua Pass is a great experience with stunning views along the way. We drove from George to Oudtshorn via the pass and then returned using the Montague Pass.

This is a lovely scenic route between Oudtshoorn and George. Most definitely worth driving, however not so nice if the mist is coming over..

One of the most beautiful passes to travel. A couple of viewpoints where you can stop and get out of your vehicle to enjoy the beautiful scenery and nature. From the view point you can see the historic Montagu pass - National Heritage site -the railway pass between George and Oudtshoorn and the old Cradock pass( white beacons on the ridge) an a stunning view of George town.Make sure you have your camera with you!!!!!
