Well curated, family friendly museum. Plenty of trains for littlies (and grown ups) to climb onto and be photographed. Model trains and aeroplanes. Classic cars on show ( though you definitely are not allowed to touch these). Charming cafe and tuck-shop housed in a vintage dining car - friendly staff. A must-visit attraction, good for sunny or rainy days.

As we were on an organised tour and were taking the power van into the mountains our time looking around the museum was too short. Another couple of hours were needed. Particularly enjoyed seeing the Royal train plus a whole host of cars in excellent condition. Some we could remember which made us feel our age!! Don't miss this museum... More

Did not know what to expect when we went there, but was really very pleasantly surprised. My son especially like the couple of trains you could climb onto. When you are visiting you must take the Power Van up the mountain.

Visited the transport museum which was absolutely awesome in all respects ... but the dive, one cannot call it a restaurant or even a diner, where we ordered lunch was the pits. It is inside the museum in a railway dining saloon. Well four of us sat down to lunch but when ordering a drink the watron informed us that... More

This is a great museum. The exhibits are interesting and there is a lot to see. We enjoyed the train and model trains. Our 2-year old son loved it. Definitely worth the entry fee charged.

I went with a little apprehension as not really into trains etc. But I thoroughly enjoyed the visit! Was very interesting and could easily have stayed longer than the hour and a half we were there. Well worth a visit and reasonably priced too.

I last visited the museum in 2000 and remember it being very train focused. On our return this time I was blown away by the wide variety of exhibits. They have added more trains, interesting train related exhibits, tons of classic cars and other very interesting exhibits! This was a really interesting trip and would like to spend more time... Our second visit to the museum - and nothing has changed in two years. Well worth the visit though, but got the feeling a "hands on" approach is slipping. Suffered embarrassment: thought the ladies toilet carriage was part of the exhibition! Clearer indications needed! The restaurant really needs a card machine...

Not just old trains but rather a lot more to see. Old cars, wagons, buses and many more. We where four ladies that went and we enjoyed it as much as the small kids running around. There a old train cart that you can have lunch in as well. We would have really liked to take the old train up... More

The trains are great to look at and see how our rail evolved. Kids had a great time. Definitely worth the tiny entry fee charged. Bathrooms could do with a bit more cleaning, but that's minor. Will be back in future.
