Very well organised wine tasting. There is just no way you can visit Cape Town and not go to Groot Constancia Estate. Very good wines, however the Desert wine, is my absolute favourite.

The wine is not cheap, but it is very good. The wine tasting was very well organized and the server sounded genuinely interested in making our experience special.

I have been to Groot Constantia on two occasions and my third visit with friends from Belgium proved to be a wonderfully tasteful surprise. Wine tasting and chocolate pairing is one of the most divine and unexpected tastes you can find but what I can...More

Hi, visited during recent CapeTown visit. This is central to city, one of oldest but also has pretty costly wines. Good, in case you have limited time in hands, if not there are other wine regions near CapeTown

Perhaps my favorite domain in South Africa : wines are famous. The pinotage is amazing. The place is wonderfull, all is beauty with the perfect Cape Blue Sky. Simon's restaurant is great. A Must!

Having spent 5 days wine tasting in Stellanboch, Franschhoek and The Cape, we finished off at Groot Constantia. Groot is the oldest, biggest and busiest of any winery we went to. This place has sold its soul and in my opinion, lost its heart. We...More

The restaurant staff treat you like absolute rubbish. It is such an inconvenience to sell you anything even something as simple as a bottle of water. To top it off we were looking for a platter of any sort to eat under the trees and...More

It's not necessary. Your guest house may be able to call ahead though and get you the best times and maybe even a voucher.

The whole estate and grounds is open and free to enter. You only pay to access the main house or for a wine tasting. The location is beautiful just aim for a weekday outside school holidays.
