We visit Cape Town every year, sometimes a few times per year, but I always thought one needs to be a cliff hanger of sorts to reach the top of Lions Head. Not so! The walk was easily do-able for myself and my husband, both in our 50's and definitely not very fit at all. Of course it was hot... More

Beautiful views of Lions Head from the Tramway to the top of Table Top Mountain. Should be on everyone's must visit list. Windy days can keep the tram from running, but when you get a good day it is spectacular!

Even better then Table mountain, I guess. Do both if you have the chance. It is hard to climb as an amateur but worth it. You walk or climb around the hill and due to the circles you have a wonderful view all the time.

We had a quiet picnic with friends towards sunset on lion's head and watched the city wind down from a day at work and were surprised by a layer of clouds moving in between us and the city.

The walk up Lion's Head is one of the things that you absolutely HAVE to do! You need to get there early in the morning otherwise parking becomes difficult. You also have to be reasonably fit otherwise you will not make it all the way and definitely won't enjoy it... Our boys of 8 and 6 went with us and... More

It's a really nice hiking to the top, most of it is really easy, some part you will need to be ready to climb and hold yourself to the rocks. The view from every corner it's just stunning. You get to see there table mountain from a great angle. Great place to see the sunset. If is full moon night... More

This is a beautiful walk and climb. It doesn't take as long as table mountain and I prefer it! Stunning views, in all directions and very chilled atmosphere. When I climbed it there was a guy playing guitar as the sun went down, so lovely. A must do when visiting this beautiful city.

If you enjoy hiking to the top of a city view point, then the Lions Head hike rates at the top of my list. The top of Lions Head is at an elevation of 660 meters above the city of Cape Town and the Atlantic ocean below. The view is 360 degrees and on a clear day you can see... More
