St James beach is on the False Bay coastline, between Muizenberg and St James. There are the regulars who come to this beach, who love the safe tidal pool, the bright bathing boxes and love looking out to the mountains in the far distance. If the wind is pumping elsewhere, St James is generally a haven. It is easily accessible... More

St James is located on the Simon's Town train line and the Main Road that runs down the False Bay coast of the Cape Peninsula. This place is well known for for its colourful Victorian bathing boxes. We paid a quick visit to this place for some interesting photos. The colourful bathing boxes are charm of this shore.

We stopped here to take photos of this picturesque setting. It is very family oriented. Definitely a place to come and lounge around for a relaxing day!

Very nice and different to the Clifton and Camps Bay beaches. The little houses are charming and if you are lucky you can use one for the day for you and your family or friends.

Loved visiting this famous beach and getting the pictures of the colorful beach huts. The setting with the mountains in the distance is beautiful! The beach is also great for shelling and lots of beach glass!! Charming!

During our full-day tour of the Cape Peninsula, I'm glad we stopped to walk down to St. James Beach. The old changing huts were as colorful as anticipated, especially so in the morning light when we visited. A great photo opp. And a good place to hang out and catch some sun when/if time permits.

A great beach to spend the day or the evening having sun downers watching as the sun sets. The tidal pool is a great attraction and during holiday times this beach is packed - otherwise it is generally not too full. It is one of the few beaches protected by the mountainside so is basically wind free making for enjoyable... More

A difficult beach to review as it has so many facets. A perfect place for families. If visitors are racist - avoid Christmas and New Year. Otherwise perfect. A wonderful, safe beach and pool enjoyed my countless generation. The village has never really been successful for restaurants etc although you may be lucky. Don't swim outside the pool unless you...
